Front 4 is devastating, The midfield and defense still look really bad. Sokratis won't solve their problems IMO

I think just removing Mustafi, Koscielny and Cech from the first team reduces the number of dumb mistakes by a large margin, these 3 were the biggest culprits of Arsenal's bad defending. Surely, I mean surely Sokratis, the other CB and Leno (if we get him) can't possibly be as bad as those 3.

The other factor is the change in style of play, Emery is going to focus a bit more on defense than Wenger did (as seen by our transfer moves) while letting Aubameyang, Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Lacazette run havoc.

How good is Gelson Martins? If he was signed would he start over Mkhi for example?

He was great in CL. IF that is his regular level then he is surely better than Mkhi. Don't about anything about his consistency ofc.

I think initially he would be brought for depth/rotation and with the hopes that he can improve his decision making in the future and become a starter. We have literally no true wingers in the squad.

Keep forgetting we have Mkhi. Still think he will be OUT in a season but it's nice to have him nevertheless

We really need a 90 pace 90 dribbling winger. Martins would be great but won't mind Martial either.
