Re: Ghost of Tsushima
the duels in this game never fail with the atmosphere tbh
also playing this game is the closest i've ever come to using the screenshot feature
region/act 2is definitely tougher than 1, which is great, I was feeling overpowered but now the difficulty is keeping me on my toes
I only have 2 complaints with the game
too many fox shrines and the fact the 'pulsating in the vicinity of collectibles' is on one of the very first armour sets you get and not a passive skill...means that I'm unlikely to use any of the fantastic looking armour over it.

That one boss where you go to the mongol tower with the bridge was amazing. Whole mission was 10/10

Happy to hear enemies get harder, been smashing everyone now that I have a lot of upgrades. Story is fairly straightforward. Its good though, not a negative part of the game at all.
- act 1 final mission:
- Ryuzo with that top 10 anime betrayal ffs

Re: Ghost of Tsushima
I also feel overpowered for region 2 though, so the upped difficulty didn't last too long
- ACT 1 Final Mission:
I actually wish the Ryuzo betrayal happened later, maybe during Act 2, let it build up more so it stung harder
and honestly Act 2 feels just as large, I think there are more side stories, which I'm really getting into now, the cast are pretty varied and interesting in their own ways. Game has already passed Horizon in my top 10 list for this gen. I think I'm enjoying it more than RDR2 too.

Re: Ghost of Tsushima
the duels are GOAT. One I just did in a mythic tale gave me a lot of difficulty even on normal. Can see it being insane on hard.
Big fan of the side stories so far (the character related ones) some real good stuff in those

My only gripe so far is that stealth is extremely OP or rather the enemies are very dumb or act dumb while doing the stealth mode.

tremendous game
story was predictable with few surprises but I enjoyed the execution tremendously, all side stories conluded in a fitting way
you could feel the emotion in the cutscenes too
great job by sucker punch, fantastic game, straight into my top 10 this gen, maybe sneaking into my top 5

Re: Ghost of Tsushima
Story is straightforward but executed really well. Felt Jin was a boring character at first but he gets a lot of development which gives him some much needed edge. The other characters are good too.

yeah, Nioh is on the lower end of my top 10
combat in Nioh is better, of course
but I enjoyed my time with Tsushima more

I've had the same issue on a few occasions. It's not a big deal, but it's slightly frustrating. I tried slashing purely on intuition and guesswork a few times when enemies were overlapping each other and there was tall grass or branches and shit blocking my line of sight, but it's not a reliable method. Good thing I never do standoffs unless I need those skill orbs.
I'm still in act 2 and I've finished everything in the first area. It's a good, quite polished game. I can't confidently say it's in my top 10 of this generation, at this point. Since you mentioned it @Firenze, I personally preferred both the variety of enemies and story of Horizon Zero Dawn, but I suppose that might change by the time I finish this game (hopefully, by the end of the weekend). The rock climbing to hidden shrines and artifacts reminds me of Uncharted/Tomb Raider. It's well implemented, and even part of the main story to some extent, but I wish they'd fleshed it out a bit more. Also, I'm sick and tired of shrines lol.
Game looks gorgeous. Combat is fun, and there are a lot of tools and gadgets to use when up against crowds of enemies. They clearly put a lot of love and effort into the classic Samurai movie theme and even added some modern twists to it, and there are free cosmetic items, which is a rare sight these days. I do think the combat is quite easy, though. I suppose it wasn't designed for people like me, who have above average reflexes
I tried turning it up to the new difficulty setting, but the only thing that became harder to deal with was archers firing at you from multiple directions and enemies attacking with more intensity - which was more stressful than fun or challenging in the way that I had in mind. It's better than simply making everyone a hard-hitting, meat tank, though. Some of the boss fights were a step up in difficulty, which was a really nice change of pace from the usual combat.
The side quests have been alright. I appreciate that there aren't many fetch quests. The mythic quests are clearly of much higher quality. I wish there'd been more of those, but I have to stop expecting Witcher 3 quality from the side content in games.

Wow, that’s a pretty massive grind. I considered doing it since I’ve already cleared out all sidequests and the vast majority of what the game has to offer, but there’s just now way I’ll travel around to look for collectibles and bow to hidden shrines that I’ve already been to. Way too much of a chore for me. And I hate collectibles.
That said, I cleared out everything under the exploration tab. Bowing to hidden shrines and gathering artifacts, crickets, flowers, records and Sashimono banners is all that’s left. It’s not difficult if you follow the guiding wind individually, but that’s seriously not fucking fun. Congratulations, but it’s not for me
