What team would u play against them
Allison
Clyne Lovren VVD Robertson
Milner Henderson Wijnaldum
Mane Firmino Salah
Clyne Lovren VVD Robertson
Milner Henderson Wijnaldum
Mane Firmino Salah
Clyne and Lovren obviously won't make the cut. Matip probably has the best chance to get back in.
For the attack, this game is a decider. Turn up or get benched. Shaqiri and Studge have been far more prolific in the limited numbers they've played in.

It is Pep whom we are talking about. After three losses last season, I am sure he will try to find different formulas to get those 3 points. I think it will be a very difficult game
The reason you win everytime is because he does exactly that.
If he kept it simple and stopped searching for something to fix which doesn't need to fix i bet it would be more likely they win.

I don't rate Joel much these days, so if Lovren isn't firing all cylinders, it's better be Joe.Nishankly wrote:BusterLfc wrote:Nishankly wrote:It all comes down to the City game lads, get in.

It's time to rotate that cancerous midfield. Fabinho comes in for Henderson.
Totally agree with your take on our attack.
But the key thing is not to wait till 87th min to make a sub/tactical change.
I believe we will get a result in this game. YNWA.

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
Yesterday was a disaster. Shades of the Boxing day game vs. Wolves under Hodgson in 2010.
Lose vs. City and we'll go to int'l break on a big downer. Win and all forgotten.
I really hope the front 3 rise to the occasion and atmosphere on Sunday...we desperately need them to, else we won't stand a chance of winning that game.

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
Welcome to Liverpool section, Zagadka.
This is so true now. After 3 games without a win,2 losses and 1 draw, this City game looks like a make or break game for the rest of our season. If we lose, the players and the fans will be demoralized going into NT break. But if we win everything is forgotten and players and fans are pumped for the rest of the season. This game became so much bigger now, definitely could be the most important game of the season.
Seems like he should be ready to play.

I dont remember which games they were but Klopp is known to try out some weird new stuff and with that he also got results, specially in one or two games against Klopp and German media went crazy for Pep. I have a bad memory, I guess @Hans can help me with that.
I have a feeling that this game will show something similar to us. I would say if Sane and Sterling both play, we will surely concede at least one goal

Buster you read my thoughts. I would bench both of Salah and Mane for this. I would play that formation as 4-4-1-1 where Firmino is little deeper than Sturridge and ask Sturridge to focus solely on putting energy when we are in the attack mode.

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
Dont know who would be LM then? Gini,Keita,Milner? I think Gini sometimes played LW for Newcastle. Maybe something like this lmao?
City would expect the same starting 11 that Klopp starts every week, but little did Guardiola know that Lallana is scheduled to return at 7th October (on matchday) , he expects the usual Mane-Salah shit , the match is about to start and BAH GAWD LALLANA STORMS IN FROM THE CURTAINS
Alisson
Clyne - Gomez - Van Dijk - Robertson
Shaqiri - Gini - Fabinho - Lallana
Firmino - Sturridge

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
Koulibaly is a monster btw, no idea how he still isn't in a top club. Napoli supposedly rejected a big offer from Chelsea in the summer.
Napoli in general are a great team, San Paolo is one of the hottest away matches in Europe. They are a very interesting team, this season I can see them go toe to toe with the biggest clubs in the CL knockouts(if they reach it though,I hope they do ahead of PSG), Ancelotti is known to be a CL specialist after all . And this season Napoli doesn't only have 11 great players, they also have great depth on the bench as well.

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
just wanted to say that even if we lose tomorrow, I would be sad; but it wont change the fact that we have come far in last 2-3 years and fixed many issues with this team. We are still not there among elite but we have to keep reinventing the squad again and again. Competing against City with their squad and a manager like Pep would be always difficult across the whole season. So losing tomorrow will not be the end of the world but at least for the first time in last few years, I am always excited to watch every match of Liverpool.
The main issue right now is, we have not fixed creativity or drive from midfield which we had from Coutinho or Ox and Klopp probably realises that but has no solution to it at least now, it seems.

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
We all know Klopp is going with this:
Let's hope they perform. The only possible change I can see is Keita coming in instead of Henderson.
Alisson
TAA - Gomez - Van Dijk - Robertson
Milner - Henderson - Wijnaldum
Salah - Firmino - Mane

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
If there is one game where I completely forget Klopp's stubbornness and lack of will to change is against City, I'd go in with him even he put the academy players out there.
Hope that doesn't change today though

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
Threw away more points, got lucky to even get one, all thanks to the miss.
Our attack still lacking that killing instinct. Something needs to change, hopefully the run of easier games now lets us build some form.

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
Yes our attack has been shit but our midfield currently also has 0 creativity in them. Their tactic is hoof it to Salah and let him chase it. We really miss a player like Ox + last season's form from our front 3.

Re: LFC Season 2018/2019
I wonder how Firmino would be in a midfield role with Sturridge up front, I think our attack suffers from the lack of a playmaker in midfield. The closer to the opponent's box we get, the worse our midfielders become. Leaves too much to do to the forwards. Edit: Buster said basically the same thing just there.
Anyway, we matched City, I think it's still an OK performance.
