Our front 3 are completely out of form

Sturridge is on fire, scores on average every 45 mins, and he still gets to play like 5 minutes per game??

Today our front 3 been awful and he decides to bring Sturridge in 89th *bleep* minute ???

Like seriously we know Klopp's subs are atrocious but how the *bleep* isn't there anyone in Klopp's coaching team to tell him or suggest to him that bringing Sturridge in the last 3 minutes every game is not a good idea ?

I have a feeling that this bad form from our front 3 will keep up for most of the season. It’s like the team is cursed to never win anything. I know players sometimes lose form but what are the chances of all of the front 3 losing form at the same time.

If I was the coach Sturridge and Shaqiri would be in my first team now considering our front 3's bad form and that both Studge and Shaq been great when called upon even though they get little minutes almost always.

Or if they have to sit on the bench I would make a double sub at 60th minute bringing both fresh Sturridge and Shaqiri in instead of bringing them both for last 3-5 mins of the game lmao. Why doesn't anyone suggest something like that to Klopp when it's so obvious?

I agree. I would play mane sturridge and shaq in the city game.

What's the point of having depth if you're not using it?

Our attack were neutralized all game, he could've brought Sturridge around 60th or 70th minute but he brings him in 89th minute.

Napoli brings in a double sub, 2 new fresh attackers in 60th minute and look how it paid off to them.

Klopp doesn't like changes, whether it's starting line-up changes or substitutions. Klopp would play with the same 11 players all season if he could.

For me he is too stubborn in some decisions.

But really today Hendo and Gini a lot of times had a free man in the middle or a semi free man when they could have played riskier and they usually passed it back to Gomez or Van Dijk. I think you can afford to have 1 "safe" passer like that in the team but having 2/3 in midfield means there's almost no creativity in midfield and our attacks become slow. Gomez plays more incisive passes than our midfield.

But on the other hand we also like to produce with our fullbacks and it doesn’t help that Arnold is in absolutely shocking form. Not only that we’re completely open defensively down that side because he’s so far forward and Salah doesn’t bother tracking back

Could give Fabinho a few games at right back. He is used to playing there and it gets him into the team

I'd start Clyne at RB.

Also I would start Fabinho at DM, we looked better today when he came on, he's one of the few positives from the game. The only positives were Alisson, Van Dijk, Gomez and Fabinho.

Btw Studge and Shaq both done more than Salah this season and both did it with limited playing time and deserve to start, but we know there will be little to 0 changes for the City game.

But Klopp still won't start Clyne, Fabinho, Sturridge, Shaqiri because he doesn't do rotation even if half players are in poor form and these deserve to play, Klopp just doesn't like changes. I doubt he would start Keita in the city game either.

OK, I'm disappointed with the result but it's certainly not end of the world. This game throws the group open and it's supposed to be like that.

Sturridge: Surely you don't expect him to score within 3-4 mins every game? What's the point of sending him in so late? I'm telling you, it's only going to demoralize him.

Gomez: The goal was his fault. There was another instance when Insigne got past him and hit the bar. It's not to say he has become crap all of a sudden. But he is young and it pays to keep him focused (and on the toes) by rotating him. Yes I know Lovren may not be fully fit and Matip is fast reaching Klavan standard.

How is the goal Gomez fault? It's our fullbacks and wingers/midfielders fault for leaving our CBs against the whole Napoli attack.

Remember how many times Gomez saved us this game? Gomez was left alone by Arnold and Salah who weren't tracking back. He was alone in defending the whole right side, most CBs would get ruined in this match but Gomez was immense the whole game and kept us in the game until that goal.

He didn't send Fabinho in for others to be creative, he sent him in because he wanted a draw at that point because Napoli was dangerous all game. It was a good sub we we looked better with Fabinho on the pitch but there were other problems.

Pep had a similar history with Klopp when he was at Bayern and Klopp at Dortmund. They faired pretty even at the end but Pep was spot on many times with his tactics against Dortmund. The only difference is that on paper, Bayern had a much stronger squad than Dortmund.

What's weird to me is last season when Klopp didn't have depth he rotated much more often. This season when he has depth he doesn't rotate at all.
The players looked tired against Napoli. Milner is gonna play 4 games in 2 weeks.

Clyne and Lovren obviously won't make the cut. Matip probably has the best chance to get back in.

For the attack, this game is a decider. Turn up or get benched. Shaqiri and Studge have been far more prolific in the limited numbers they've played in.
