2018 / 2019 season prediction

I predict this lineup for next season.

Navas

Carvajal, Varane, Ramos, Marcelo

Isco, Modric, Kroos, Casemiro (I’m predicting some rotation here with 3 of them pkaying)

Salah, Ronaldo, Asensio

I acknowledge there is some chance that Navas could be replaced, but it does seem as if the possible portero change has at least become a lower priority.

As to backups, this is the area most in doubt. If all we do with regards to starters is bring in Salah or some other impact scorer, then the backup squad may well be the most important aspect of off season recruitment. It sure looks like most of this season’s kids will be sent elsewhere for development. One can hope that the backup squad has much more experience than current one. As to predictions, I suspect Casilla, if no portero change is made, there is Nacho, I suspect Vallejo and Theo, a new RB is needed; Kovacic and a new CB is needed; Lucas and 2 new forward backups needed.

What are the chances of getting Salah?

Seems like people here discount it, but I see no reason why we can’t. We have the money, question is whether Flo / Zidane have the desire?

Honestly, I would like Salah to stay one more season at Liverpool before we make a move for him for one simple reason. I would like to know whether or not he's a one-season wonder.

This season, he has been absolutely phenomenal. If he can maintain the same level the next season as well, Madrid should go all out for him.

And it's not like he's going to go somewhere else if we don't make a move quickly. Barcelona are after Griezmann, PSG can't spend their money this season, United aren't going after him and the same goes for City.

But we need someone like him for next season. If we don’t go after him, then who? Surely you are not suggesting we stand pat again?

You can’t just wait and see if every signing is perfect!

Besides DoC, I am sure all this Neymar talk will lead to something (just like the Ronaldo deal several years ago). I’m expecting Neymar to replace a retiring Ronaldo in a couple of years.

So if Salah turns out to be a one year wonder, it’s not a big thing.

Let Alisson and Keylor compete, go with the good old one for league and one for cups for a season and if Alisson delivers let him be starter moving foward.

Azpi leaving Chelsea to come and be a squad player here might not be the most realistic, especially with Sarri likely coming but it would be would be a dream signing that can reinforce the entire backline. Loan out Hakimi to a la liga club and possibly Vallejo as well, although wouldn't mind if the latter stayed.

In: Omar
Out: Llorente, Ceballos

I don't see us changing much in midfield unless someone important leaves, play Isco more in midfield.
Send the two on loan or sell with buy-back and get Omar as reinforcement, he likely won't play much either way.

Martial/Inaki/Guedes/Son
Out: Bale, Mayoral, Benz(?)

Appreciate what Bale has done yesterday and throughout his career here but it's the right time to part ways, hopefully Utd still willing to spill triple digits for him.
Bring in someone who's good enough to be a starter, we don't really play with a set system so i think the players' profile can be diverse. It doesn't matter who, we're in dire need of new blood upfront and i'm sure Flo is itching to sign someone. Keep Benz as backup if he's content with that and maybe also bring in another versatile attacker that can play centrally and on the wings unless Vinicius impresses big in pre-season.

In should be a holding mid and a B2B. Nzonzi would be nice. But likely going to go after some kids since the top 4 are set. Really need a backup DM/Holding Mid. I would make a run at Fabinho myself.

Need better backup keeper. Casilla is utter shit. Ivan Cuelllar would be my choice or bring Pacheco back.

Is there any realistic chance we get Salah?

We are in dire need of a RW and I can't think of anyone decent who is available

We should keep both Llorente and Ceballos imo. What we lacked last season was rotation. If ZZ can integrate them better this season we are goimg to reap the rewards in the long run

What we need is a striker and a right winger. Everywhere else we are set. Nacho should be the first to back up Carvajal and let Hakimi grow slowly instead of playing him in the most important games without practice. Vallejo I'll count on for another year before I decide to loan him out

Biggest priority is the attack. Imagine if we had our midfield and Barcas attack. Our midfield wouldn't have to kill themselves every game

What's the point in keeping players Zidane doesnt want to use? no it doesnt make sense. Let them go, and bring guys Zidane will be happy to use. I always thought it was a shame we never signed N'zonzi, would be a lovely help in midfield

Kovacic also never played for nearly 2 seasons. What you need under ZZ is patience

If Real Madrid wanna make sure no one threatens the throne, we must be aggressive in the transfer market.

I'm sure Klopp wont sell but that wont stop us from trying.
Liverpool should take this time and start getting aggressive too. being runner up has its benefits. means you're now in the big time in the same league as Real madrid. should be quite the advantage convincing transfer targets that Liverpool project is legit.

No offense I would not go for salah after one season. He was incredible... but we should wait and see if he can produce the goods for another season. What we are looking for is consistency. We also have to factor whether or not hes mentally fit to play for a club like Real where pressure from fans and the board are unmatched

Agree with most of what has already been said. Ceballos and Llorente can both get sold with a buy back, Hakimi and Vallejo could get loaned, and we could bring in experienced jack of all trades in Defense and Midfield. Also a new goalkeeper and 2 forwards/wingers to replace Benzema who should be benched and Bale should get sold.

Shouldn't continue with Zidiamond in League, we need something that can offer more support systematically in both attack and defense to players, and give them higher chances of winning games even when they are not at their best.

It's gonna sound crazy after the amount of criticism I sent his way but I am all for keeping Achraf.

This is my idea for the defense. Spend on a CB like Skriniar or Gimenez, whichever can be had a the lowest fee possible or an equally good young CB.

Use Nacho as emergency back up for right back and left back if Theo and Achraf continue to underperform.

I support the least amount of changes, and we can even keep Vallejo around next year

I'd rather keep Vallejo than Achraf.

Both Vallejo and Ashraf are going to be loaned out apparently... as soon as we get the replacements.

In short, it seems like none of the kids are staying.

If Achraf leaves then why not pick up Meunier? I think he is a good right back

But I like Achraf as a talent, specially attacking he can be scary and I think there is space to groom him. If he leaves fine but as I said I want the least amount of changes possible.
