I said he needed to just focus and he could be great. And now in his third year he's the second best player from his draft class after Embiid. He really stepped it up this offseason and lost all his fat and his defense is absolutely incredible. He can guard 1-5 and he's unstoppable when driving. Unless when he gets his 1 or 2 offensive fouls. But at least he makes defenders pay for taking charges.
I wanted to trade him because I thought we could get much value for him because I think he's good. No other team thought so though.
Nance on the other hand. Never saw anything in him. Unathletic, overrated defender, can't shoot. He's so rigid and I have no idea how some Lakers fans wanted to start him over Randle.

Any team that comes out of the East is going to get ruined by the Warriors anyways
If it's LeBron they'll sell us the same narrative as last season, he averaged damn near a 30 point triple double and a lot of those games were not close- score or otherwise
With the Raptors, it won't be any different but if we do manage to come out of the East then I'll take it because that'll be a great achievement for us, alone
Everyone needs to put an asterisk next to the Rockets, they've done nothing of note in the playoffs and nothing to suggest it'll be an easy road, especially in the West.

Warriors are basically playing at 80% though. No doubt they're chilling until POs because they don't wanna burn out like they did in 73-9 season.

Yea bruh, we have a lot more levels to tap into.
Won't be surprised if Draymond and Iggy's shooting percentages rise as we go nearer to playoff time.

Trading for Jimmy Butler was a mistake. He’s holding KAT back

Considering their record without Butler and how they were absolutely trash last year I disagree.
Although it is about time they run the offence through him, Wiggins taking more shots than Towns should not be happening under any circumstances.

Butler shouldn't be taking more either. They're not as bad after he went down as expected. They were losing a lot before also.
Towns is almost too efficient. He shoot get more volume. Even if he shot worse he'd still be more efficient than his teammates.

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
Butler isn't holding anyone back
He's a true team player that makes everyone around him better and is a net positive on both ends of the floor. He's also a big time player that makes big time plays, he's called Jimmy G. Buckets for a reason. All while being a positive locker room presence and a leader that the team needs.
I don't know why you always have to take your point and exaggerate it. You can say that the offense should be flowing through Towns more without saying that trading for Butler was a mistake and that he's holding KAT back.
It's plain as day that Butler has been huge for the Timberwolves this year

Except the Timberwolves, everyone in the playoff spots in the West are at least 7-3 in their last 10.
This conference is *bleep* mental.

And Lakers coming for that playoffs. Would have to involve teams actually losing at some point ffs.
.500 would be incredible.
Never thought Portland could do this.

I always thought Portland on paper could do this.
2 all star level guards plus a good center who can defend, rebound and score.
But it never really came together as I imagined, but right now they are playing to potential. But for them to be taken seriously they probably need to upgrade on Aminu somehow.

Always rated Lillard
Only thing I don't like about Portland is Evan Turner, guy is an absolute scemo
Got one of the worst contracts in the NBA before it was cool

The worst thing about the NBA is the tanking, Orlando not having a single player to have more than 10 points last night, Knicks going from a playoff contenders to having 1 win since January, same with Grizzlies having a 18 game loss streak, Chicago not even trying to hide it (https://thebiglead.com/2018/03/14/video-bulls-tank-spectacularly-humorously/)
Is there more to do to stop this nonsense? Embarrassing stuff.

Several things:
-Not glorify things like the process (SUCKING until you get it right)
-Change the draft lottery system. It is now more rewarding to suck, and suck the most
-Find a way to change this Free Agent driven market, where each summer new mega cucks join forces to lose to the Warriors
-Heavy fines to teams like they did with the Mavs

The lottery system is being changed but isn't in effect yet, although I would go further tbh.

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
imo one problem is that there is no real benefit for being the #7/#8 seed other than playoffs. Or the teams just missing out on playoffs. Those teams never get past the first round (or not at all), have to draft really well to get a player that can push them farther up, and usually don't have a lot of cap space lying around unless they drafted really well prior (which...honestly probably came from sucking at one point).
The teams underneath at least have the benefit of the draft but they still have to draft well a couple years in a row to put things together, which isn't easy for some franchises.
There is really only reward in being a top 4 team in the conference OR being one of the worst teams.
That midtable range...your benefit for a hard fought season is a couple games in the playoffs and that's it.
If there were a different cup or something like in football where teams in the midtable range had some sort of incentive to keep a good team together, I think it could help ward off the tanking. It would still happen but perhaps not as much.
The NBA season has so many games though that it makes it impossible, so the schedule would have to be fixed as well.

I don’t mind tanking. It makes the season more entertaining.
Some of the “rotate no 1 overall pick every year” suggestions are ridiculous that a lot of pundits do.

It's all a system though.
Those midtable teams wouldn't be necessarily stuck there forever. Assuming the utter wack teams still get the best picks in the draft and they improve significantly and become better than those midtable teams, those midtable teams will eventually drop down and get the chance to build off of draft picks.

Does anyone else find it odd how many people don't think the Warriors are a lock to win the Championship this season?
Is it just a hope to see something different or do you think there is a genuine belief that either their ability has deteriorated and/or other teams have closed the skill gap between them?
