Yeah his injury was a pity. Torn ACL wasn't it. Our starting left back suffered the same fate just so you know.
Though looking at whoscored, Ghoulam's Champs League rating is 0.35 points lower than Fabian Delph an emergency left back so lets not kid ourselves they were missing Roberto Carlos.
They were probably better at the Etihad anyways.
They got ruined at home.

Can't see us losing to a Montella managed team in the CL to be honest. Nothing against Sevilla, I do rate them- especially at home but I do not rate Montella at all
The rest of the match ups I think would actually be the best draws for the tournament's sake. Liverpool and Roma I believe are closer than people think and it ensures one of them will be in the semi-finals which will be nice for either club. Bayern and City, Pep vs Jupp, it writes itself. Then Real Madrid, who only have the CL to really play for, against Barca who would love to be the team that ends their run in this competition.
Stuff of dreams really

Wouldn't be a Juve CL campaign without playing Barca and Sevilla. We already had Barca, its Sevilla time

Re: Champions League 2017/2018 Quarter Final Draw
Anyways on to the draw and considering this is our best Champions League team, looking at things from an historical perspective...
Roma...we've beaten them in the knock out stages before and won in Rome so would be alright.
Sevilla...beaten them home and away in the group stages before so again alright.
Juventus...Bogey team but judging by their Spurs games and the way we destroyed Spurs at the Etihad this season, it would probably be like playing United in the last eight. They'd park the bus and send us all to sleep so not alright.
Bayern....They've beaten us and we've beaten them in the Group Stages. They were much younger and better then though so that would be an alright.
Liverpool....Would be two great games but prefer to play them later in the competition so not alright.
Barcelona.....Claudio Bravo won't be in goal and Zabaleta won't be playing right back so there might be a chance of going there and finishing the game with 11 players. Last meeting we beat them 3-1 at home with Jesus Navas, nuff said...great games but later in tournament so not alright.
Real Madrid...Last time we played them was the Semi's two years ago with Pellegrini which was a disgrace. Before that was Mancini's team which drew at home and pissed away a 2-1 advantage away. Again if Spurs are bossing you then are they all that. Two great games but later in the tournament so not alright.
In summary for preference:-
Sevilla
Roma
Bayern
Barcelona
Real Madrid
Liverpool
Juventus

There is no awards ceremony or any of that stuff. It'll take about 5-10 minutes to do the intro with the special guests and we're ready to go for the draw

Barca, Madrid, Bayern and City.
Couldn't of been a better draw for UEFA.

Scoring was not what Ghoulan did for Napoli. He rampaged down the left side constantly and held possession for relatively long periods of time before providing assists and crosses. Napoli is an 11-man team with no real backups of equal quality to the starters. Napoli with its first team of the fall would have destroyed Inter. Instead with this Napoli team, the current (terrible) Inter was able to draw and play decently against them.

Absolutely heartbroken at the draw. Play in the tournament after 10 years and have to play an English team that can't even fill it's stadiums.

MC got the break they needed. I think over two legs Juventus will eliminate Madrid as they usually do over two legs.

Re: Champions League 2017/2018 Quarter Final Draw
I would have loved Sevilla vs Roma tbh. Two teams going at it with a genuine shot of a semi, rather than facing clubs they could easily be slaughtered by.
Liverpool/City will be good though. Pool are something of a bogey team for City, after all.
