Re: Champions League 2017/2018 Quarter Final Draw
I would have loved Sevilla vs Roma tbh. Two teams going at it with a genuine shot of a semi, rather than facing clubs they could easily be slaughtered by.
Liverpool/City will be good though. Pool are something of a bogey team for City, after all.

Dreaming about a match up with Bayern and Barcelona after 10 years end up getting a 100 mile round trip to Manchester. Sigh.

Why we play the first game on a tuesday and the second game on a wednesday ?
For us it's correct, i don't complain. But this system is bs for those clubs who got it the other way around, Roma for example. 3 games in 7 days

It's actually the opposite lol, this is the only way to guarantee there's finally a British team in the semis. If they weren't playing each other Liverpool and City would probably go out.

Re: Champions League 2017/2018 Quarter Final Draw
Yeah because City and Liverpool would undoubtedly lose to Sevilla and Roma
This nonsense need to stop, Spurs was incredibly unlucky and Chelsea lost to a team which is unbeaten in their league.
Basically the only team who didn't go through who were expected to is Man Utd and the only reason they didn't is because their manager is a coward.

Pool would definitely lose to Sevilla btw. Couldnt beat them in the group stages. Destroyed by them in the EL final a few years ago etc

You miss the point, there's now this stupid idea because 2 of them lost to teams people expected them to that the whole of England is trash and they'd lose to everyone left herp derp.
La Liga/Serie A Fans with a hate hardon for PL are incredibly annoying tbh.

Stop acting like Sevilla are this super team because of fraud Mourinho please.
Liverpool would smash them, they are two points above Girona in LOL Liga ffs
They are absolute bums, worst team left in the tournament by far and there's better teams in the EL.

Brexit is in my heart and my soul so i dont know how you can accuse of me of hating tbh
Brexit has good teams but they need a little more experience to consistently make the latter stages. I mean with just two semi-finalists in the last 7 seasons of CL football you cant blame people for not holding a high opinion of PL teams when it comes to Europe.

What's with this PL hate anyway? is it because of the dumb hot takes from British tabloids and pundits? The ones in Italy aren't better, and the Spanish are arguably worse. It's just that nobody gives a shit about their media and nobody cares about what the Spanish version of Paul Merson has to say.

Nah Lol Liga and Serie A fans have always hated the PL to ridiculous levels.
To the point that no one person should ever get that emotionally invested in a football league.
It's embarrassing really, their argument is usually how the PL is overrated and get really emotional about it to the point you can feel their rage through your laptop screen.
it's sad imo.

The PL is extremely overrated. The xenophobic English tabloid press is part of it. The Italian press is far more measured and possibly underrates Serie A when Italian clubs are in Europe. The Spanish press, which would have every right to express openly the absolute superiority of their club football, are also more measured. They are 25 or more points ahead of Serie A and the EPL in the coefficient race and 30 points higher than the Bundesliga at this point.

I'm sorry, Spurs were unlucky? Lol, no they weren't. They lost to a more clinical team while being wasteful in their possession and chances. Hell, Jjuve had a PK that really should have been called, Higgy missing a PK in the 1st leg and Kane almost scored an offside header. Unlucky, pls.

To be fair there were a few calls that could have gone in spurs favor in the first leg, but I agree spurs lost because of defensive errors not because of luck.

Absolute nonsense, Anyone who saw even one of the matches would agree Sevilla's lucky to finish second in the group stage let alone beat Liverpool. Ignorant lads all around.

Flo's influence seems to have gone now on these draws for good Stuck with facing Juve again We got Roma which is pretty much the easier draw No disrespect to Roma but semis we are in it already.
A good draw for both the CL and EL that all the big teams avoided each other.

I cannot disagree. Spurs were better than a few teams that have gone through to the quarter finals and are probably the only team to have been knocked out that a neutral would feel for. However Chiellini did make a spot on even if nasty comment. Spurs always lose out in the end. After all this fine football they are still not able to win anything. There is something lacking, something intangible like a winners mentality or the ability to handle pressure in the most critical moments or just the fine lines that make the difference between winning and losing at top level. Will they reach there? They obviously won't get too much time. I hope that they do but I doubt. An FA Cup win would be an excellent beginning. The real worry though is that the team itself could break up this summer.

That's the obvious "smart" prediction but I would not rule out surprises. Above all I have this gut feeling that Liverpool have a 49% chance against ManCity. They are a team that can suddenly get inspired to the level of beating anyone and while most don't consider him a great tactician there is something uniquely special about Jurgen Klopp, something about his charisma and the connection he seems to have with his players. Equally though Liverpool are just as capable of flopping miserably. My hope is that when faced with the toughest of tests Liverpool are more likely to fire than flop and that would make this tie very interesting. For Barca I would normally be worried against most teams (including of course Roma) as an anxious fan but the new found defensive solidity gives me more peace of mind. You can never tell for sure in football though.

We were supposed to struggle against Porto as well with their attacking prowess before the match. The bar keeps getting higher and we will prove it against City ffs
