Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
I really don't get this from City's point of view tbh.
If this happened last summer i would have understood it, City came off a disappointing season where they were incredibly wasteful in front of goal but now i'm not sure. Sterling has massively stepped up his game, Aguero has been more consistent and Jesus continued where he picked up from after joining last January.
Really don't think he's necessary now.
While they spent shit tonnes of cash last summer and over spent on some players, i felt like all the signings they made were necessities at the time according to positions that were needed.

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
Amazing move for City
Alexis is the best, non-cup tied player. The fee is more than reasonable for his ability
I think he'll be deadly under Pep
But I can see I'm surprised at how much he sulked at Arsenal during the end there

He shouldn't even start for them, who is he going to replace in the starting 11? 35m to get him a few months early. lol.
Strange move. Time for up and coming youngster Theo Walcott to step up IMO and fill his boots at the Emirates

You guys are absolute clowns. He will be a starter and a big reason why City will win the Champions League.

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
We should have bid for him
Would've formed a devastating partnership with Lingard
At least I'm expecting Özil to be ours

Yeah because he killed it the last time he played for Pep
Ridiculous move. I like it. It's bad for both sides.

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
Exactly. It's overkill. Now someone has to lose game time for Alexis who does not deserve to lose game time, while Alexis' ego tripping will be detrimental to City's game, even if he of course has huge individual quality.

Unfair comparison, the last time Sanchez played for Pep his performances were more down to Messi and Barca being at the peak of Messi false 9 and that back then the wingers pretty much had zero freedom.
Today is a completely different situation, at City he's walking into a situation which is more like Arsenal or Udinese from style POV than Barca was.

No evidence to suggest that the same wouldn't happen now. Since when has Pep cared about natural positions

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
He's going to take Sane's place. Which is sad considering he looked very promising this early half season.
Sane is the New Bernardo Silva.
Bernardo Silva is the new......well...Just further on the bench now.

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
Well this confirms Aguero is leaving this summer.
Alexis will be the starting CF. Sane will continue to start as long as Mendy is injured. He's the only player who can keep width on the left wing atm. Pep surely didn't sign Alexis to have him hug the touchline lol. He's going to play in the middle until Mendy comes back.
Maybe after Mendy returns we will see:
Alexis - Jesus - Sterling/Sane
Against defensive teams all 4 will be playing, no doubt about it.

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
We thought that last summer tbf and he stayed and performed excellently.
I just think they are stacking the deck talent wise, don't think anyone is leaving unless the players themselves demand it.

Re: Alexis Sanchez transfer saga
FM moment IRL. After playing for so long and winning everything, you are left with the best players and best young players and unlimited money, and also the dread and disappointment that you can field only 11 players on the football pitch at a single time. I guess City will soon feel like that.
So much for the so called most competitive league in the world.
