Unbelieveable. This has to be the worst 1 loss team in the history of Europe right now

People talk how boring Barca is (which it is) but don't give credit to Chelsea for excellent defending and commitment. I think if chelsea played like this with 99% of teams in the world they would make them look boring.

Barcelona's football has been effective (enough) this season but that doesn't apply today. They got extremely fortunate with that brainfart Christansen had because other than that, it was pretty mediocre stuff. This was a gift of a result for them really.

Ho, wait! Didnt we get a away goal? I think "effectiveness" does apply then today.

This is Valverde's style really, not much will change
Perhaps Dembele will start the return leg and we'll look more offensive minded with wider options and speed that he'll provide down the wing

I guess if you wanna call this an effective performance, sure. You do you. But the goal didn't come about through some tactical switch or intricate play. It was through a dopey pass that didn't happen all match before that.

Yeah. If Christensen doesn't turn his brain off there Barca have no business tying the game.

It was really bad from Barca. They didn't really know what to do. But the result is great for them and other opponents will suit them better.

Two brave Brexit displays in the span of a week (I don't count gulf oil backed City), only for both teams to come away with nothing really. The EU continue to rob us.

Roman (or Rodney as he's affectionately known among us Brits) is a naturalized citizen though. And Conte plays like a prime British manager in the mould of Pulis and Pardew. They're as British as fish and chips. Allow it.

At least Tottenham have a proper Brexit owner. Utd, City, Pool, Chelsea and Arsenal(citation needed) all have foreign owners and foreign coaches. Not true Brexit at all.

Re: UCL R16 : Chelsea Vs FC Barcelona
You are very correct here Doc but unfortunately UK has been drained by the EU and the Americans to a point they occupy all the top positions. England will require to use them to their power to make it a soft brexit only to send them all back later soon. It's a process, an internal change, A way of life. Brexit means Brexit.
Also well done Chelsea.

What you are doing rinc is only justifying the need for Brexit. The glory days of Sammy Lee and Paul Merson will return.

Re: UCL R16 : Chelsea Vs FC Barcelona
It is 2018, Gone are the days you could push someone out of the border. We must be objective about how this will be done. First their will be soft then it will be hard. Britishers chose to leave and now all the forners must leave after fulfilling the "contribution towards brexit tax".
Chelsea's brigade getting +1s tonight. But I doubt they will sustain Barcelona in that vile place called Spain because it's not England lets face it.
A full brexit will allow Chelsea's away games to be max in Belfast and that will develop the local British economies. CL will also leave England in the hard brexit which will follow soon. Allowing the Fa cup to get its glory days back ffs

Re: UCL R16 : Chelsea Vs FC Barcelona
The passage of CL from England will allow the formation of the BL (British League), We know that the alphabet B>C and the non English speaking foreigners do not understand that obviously, pssh. Also no, America does not that with an A, It starts with an U so they are inferior as well.
I think for those who do not understand the soft brexit as I can see many upventuses on the Ziggy post, I implore you to hear me out and evaluate this. Brexit starts soft with mild slogans and using all the powers at hand, After this it becomes a Hard Brexit where everything not British is removed from Britain, Then it reverts back to its soft/mild well functioning country as it once was.
Brexit is basically a penis.
