no. They are different styles of strikers, about as good as each other.

Not really he said it before the season even started lol.

Besides look at their players, the only real dynamic player in the team is Hazard.

He has absolutely zero help when it comes to creating, i been saying this for ages but they seriously lack talent when it comes creating chances for themselves and others.

pretty stupid move to be honest, i dont know who at Chelsea made that decision. Conte doesn't strike me as that naive of a scout.

I'm absolutely done with this site claiming this Chelsea team has no quality

If you were to believe GL on everything you'd believe Chelsea are a midtable side overperforming and Spurs are a CL contending side, and City's performance this season has nothing to do with Pep

Name the a player outside from Hazard who can create for himself or for others and isn't the team just because he can run a lot?

I'll wait....

Insane level of incompetence tbh.

We said last year that of all the hyped up young Monaco players, Bakayoko is the one to avoid. GL members> Chelsea scouts.

@CBarca

Its not that they don't have quality, is that there isn't an overwhelming amount of it. Most are good solid players and that's it.

Hazard - Morata - Pedro
Alonso - Bakayoko - Fabregas - Moses

Besides Hazard no one is gonna create much up top. Fabregas could do it but he is also the only proper passing CM so he is playing back and his only contribution to the forwards are long balls.

Both Fabregas and Willian lol

Not to mention Azpi and Alonso are both more than decent wing backs, Moses as well (wing backs don't need to be "creative" to be able to create--see Rose and Walker)

Can't believe this. Knew this would happen. This is worse than United vs Pool in terms of injustice.

Clueless about current football if you don't think wing backs right now are players that do A LOT for creating offensively

You literally were on a rampage all of last year talking about how City's main problems (and I said the same thing) were their outside backs

Get out of here rofl

Chelsea have a top six quality squad, but challenging for the title depends on how many players can reach the performances levels of, say, Kante, Hazard and Costa (before he left). At their normal level they will occasionally lose games they shouldn't (as other top six sides do).

If you want to talk tactics, their wing backs were big players last season but this season they haven't performed nearly as well. That could down to them personally, but also to other teams identifying them as their main threat and nullifying it. That puts a big onus on the front three to create.

Also, I'd argue that swapping a sitter in Matic for a more b2b in Bakayoko wasn't a smart move and it's exposed their back three a lot more than it was last season.

Yeah because they had none lol.

You are utterly delusional if you think creativity isn't a problem. They have the worst amount of creative talent in the top 6 by far.

Just look at who you are naming lmao, Fabregas has done nothing for years and isn't a starter anyway and Willian does nothing but run as well as two defenders and one has zero offensive ability.

Their two CMs are basically athletes with no creative talent, their wingers are basically work horses who are in the team to run and not do much else.

Hazard is the only with any level of vision and passing ability, you seriously need to be tested for drugs if you think this isn't a problem tbh.

Explain to me how many more creative players Tottenham have than Chelsea

Lloris
Alderweireld Sanchez Vertonghen
Aurier Dembele Wanyama Rose
Eriksen Dele
Kane

I even included players that are injured atm instead of including Davies and Winks lol. The only players here who are any good at creating for others is Eriksen and at times Dele, though he plays more as a second striker than a creative player these days. I would include Aurier and Rose, but apparently you're scraping the barrel to include wide players.

Yet Tottenham have had no problem creating last season or this season. Chelsea had no problem last season.

Jay29 wrote:As for Chelsea's struggles, I think the simplest answer is regression to the mean.

Likes of Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Alonso and Pedro over-performed relative to their actual ability. They've returned to their normal levels but Chelsea have nobody to replace them in the team, which is possibly why Conte was so upset about their transfer business.

Even Morata despite his goals is actually over-performing, in that some of his goals have come from low percentage chances.

Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Yep even Conte said pre season that they had players playing at 120% last season and it won't happen again.

He knew.

Aside from City didn’t Chelsea spent the second most in the PL this season in the transfer market?

Chelsea spent this summer either chasing players who were unattainable or players who went to play for other clubs (Lakuku and Danilo). As good as Conte is he doesn’t have that pulling factor that say someone like Pep would have.
