Re: Tottenham's legitimacy watch
Tbf Asamoah beat Llorente to one which is both hilarious and disgusting.

Asamoah has revived his career in a pretty incredible way. Hope he doesn't go to Inter.
I was really impressed by Dembele over this tie. Would love to have him.

Terrific team. Just a bit too inexperienced for this comp.

Dembele, Son, Erikssen and Kane are great. Pooch has done great as well. The back 4 and Dier on the other hand seem fairly bad.

They were missing their best CB, Alderweirald is immense. Would be like you missing Chiellini. They rely too much on him.

Nah, Spurs are a bunch of bottlers, I'm just saying defensively they're generally quite solid as Alderweirald and Vert is a very good partnership. Their fullbacks and Sanchez are ass though and looked meh tonight.

Meh we were missing our first and second choice right winger and our first choice RB they had an entire flank to abuse and still couldn't do it when it counted.

tbf Spurs didn't have their most important player: Alderweireld. The defense is another animal entirely with him there.rincon wrote:Dembele, Son, Erikssen and Kane are great. Pooch has done great as well. The back 4 and Dier on the other hand seem fairly bad.

Re: Tottenham's legitimacy watch
Eh I'm not sure how to handle the defense. The defense manhandled Juventus who didn't create a chance other than the two goals, but...they also gave up two clear chances. I haven't watched the goals since the game, but iirc I think both of them were primarily from Sanchez mistakes.

Re: Tottenham's legitimacy watch
The nidfield and attack was responsible for containing Juve. Whenever our players broke through them the defense was pretty weak. With little control over the midfield we still could have scored 7 very clear chances over the two games.

Re: Tottenham's legitimacy watch
Spurs are certainly the 2nd best coached team in the PL and they were really good. No denying that
But some of their problems, they are the same persisting ones. They are a whole different team when theres no pressure on them and can beat any team in the world, not just Madrid or BVB and would have beaten Juventus too, rather easily if this tie was group stage. May be its down to the experience of teams like Madrid and Juve and the fact they are different teams in ko stages.
Either way having played so well over the two ties, if they can't land that one final punch, it IS a problem. With more experience playing at this level, it hopefully will change.
Anyway cbarca and others can defo feel proud. Poch is one of the best.
