I think it's abundantly clear to any football fan that Messi is far better than Ronaldo and will always be... and it has nothing to do with BdO trophies lol.

While it may be abundantly clear that Messi has more talent, it also is abundantly clear that Ronaldo has produced more results both individually and his teams results. His arrogance, childish antics often detract and IMO that’s what the critics are so harsh on him.

I personally don’t rate against other legends as those comparisons are useless without any real value especially when comparing different eras. But it is not even debatable that both Ronaldo and Messi are the greatest players by a large margin of this current era of futbol.

I think the reason most of us appreciate and respect Ronaldo's achievements (both on NT team and club level, not to mention personal level) is that even though he's clearly less talented than Messi, he's still managed to go neck and neck with him; something that no other player in world football could ever achieve or even dream of achieving. The fact that he's managed to match Messi's number of Ballon d'Or wins, Golden Boot wins, CL wins and even throw a little extra "euro" in there is nothing short of fairytale-like.

And let's not pretend that the idea of being inferior to Messi is something to be ashamed of, Ronaldo is still and will forever be one of the greatest players of all-time.

There shouldn't even be a debate on who's better; Messi is in a league of his own. He is a sensational prodigy; a once-upon-a-time human who got touched by God at a tender age and turned into a freak of nature.

Ronaldo is that talented, arrogant human who had the foolishness, belief, determination and courage to stand before God himself, point at his finest creation and say with a smile: "You know what? Challenge accepted."

well, it's comparable. Just looking at major trophies, It's 8 ligas, 4 CLs and no NT major results for Messi, while it's 5 liga / EPL, 3 CLs and one NT Euro.

Ronaldo is 2 years older... and 3 more domestic crowns is a LOT. It's not some minor difference.

And winning the Olympic gold medal, which Messi did in 2008, counts just as much as a Euro to me.

Not to mention 1 more CL... which again, isn't just trivial. Winning CL is hard as hell despite what some Madrid fans may think lol.

Your distain for Ronaldo is unbelievable. I’m sure that most of us can concede that Messi is more talented and best of this era, but Ronaldo is a close second and deserves praise for his accomplishments. I can understand Barca fans and maybe Hans refusing to give him his just due, but as a supposedly Madrid fan, you don’t seem to be able to acknowledge all of trophies won last year and year before are largely attributable to Ronaldo, rather you want to put that down to Zidane, Benz and Varane!

The Ballon D'or has become a joke award anyways, even if Messi and Ronaldo both don't make or win a CL/Euro/WC, they'll find a way to win the award anyways. Just look through the rankings and its quite easy to see that. Luckily, there's Messi and Ronaldo or we could see this award being even more fraudulent

I mean, everyone knows Lionel is the better footballer. Zlatan is probably a better footballer too but unlike Zlatan, Ronaldo is the only footballer out here who has actually kept pace with Messi's achievements. People does belittle the man's accomplishments like it is something anyone can just do and even us here does do that now and then.

Ronaldo is a legendary footballer and would go down as one of the greatest of his generation and to ever kick a ball. Nothing the Harmonica's can do would change that fact.

If anything, they're more narcissistic than sociopathic I'm not a particularly big fan of C. Ronaldo, but I think people read too much into his comments and this interview is no exception to that. In the very same interview, he admits that while he thought he had the potential to win the Ballon D'or one day, that ambition only grew as he became more successful. I think ambition is one of his greatest assets. Although some may like to think otherwise, it's very common for top footballers to think highly of their own abilities. Even that dumbass and fellow countryman of mine, John Carew once claimed that he could've been the greatest player of all time, but he wasn't willing to make the necessary sacrifices for it. That's a pointless thing to say to the media. Especially, when you haven't achieved anything worth shit. At least, C. Ronaldo has some credential, although I think most rational people are fully aware that he's not on Messi's talent level. You're nothing if you don't have confidence and belief in your own potential. In terms of achievements, I think Messi and Ronaldo are closer than their respective talent levels would suggest.

What talent level are you guys talking about ? Messi is a much much better footballer plain and simple. He is a much better dribbler, a much better passer, and a better scorer, despite Cristiano's numbers. Cristiano winning more CLs or Ligas or whatever won't ever change that. He is getting so overrated it's not even funny. Well' it's funny since Messi is consistently adding to his arsenal and evolving his game, Cristiano's game is deteriorating by day, despite his goals. TBH I don't think he's one of our 3 best players.

Outside the field ronaldo can be among GOATs. But in the field show me any performance of ronaldo which is comparable to goats. He never had a legendary performance.in recent era we saw such performances from rivaldo zidane ronaldinho r9. By legendary i mean after those performances people called them best ever. Ronaldo gets called best ever after ballon dor win or any trophy win with his team. Never after his performance in the field. This is something that seperates him from true legends

You applaude his arrogancy and desire to get everything but its not a good thing to be selfish and shout at team mates and others just because you want that golden boot. He might get all awards but he has no friends in the team or outside it. Its not a strong desire to win.its a childish behavour and any child will get everything if he behaves like ronaldo
