I don't think anyone can possibly say that Pep doesn't buy titles. He's spent over 200m pounds on defenders alone.

In fairness perhaps among the Pep cult we don't bring up his spending as much, but I don't think many would deny he isn't a cheque book manager.

If Mahrez deal happens, that would be
1. 500+ million spend since Pep took charge (19 months).
2. 200+ on defenders alone.
3. Potentially 8 players costing over £50m on their first XI. United have 3 (4 if Martial’s additional clauses are included) in their history. Chelsea 2. Liverpool 1. Arsenal 2 soon.
