https://www.thisisanfield.com/2017/09/everyone-tells-sean-dyche-admits-burnley-targeted-liverpool-set-pieces/
“I’m really pleased with the game plan, because it’s difficult to come here,” Dyche told reporters after the game.
“So therefore we thought: ‘we’re going to have to be resolute with our shape, cover a lot of ground and we’re going to have to make it uncomfortable for them’.
“And the best way in these parts, everyone tells you, is they’re having a tough time with set-pieces.
“Everyone here would say that, as regards fans and the like.
“We felt that would be important and, as it happens, we had two cleared off the line from set-pieces, so our game planning was right.
“You’re not going to out-football them, you have to make it uncomfortable.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
Klopp clearly overestimated his and his staffs ability in terms of coaching. Players like Lovren has got so many chances to improve but he is just so dumb to coach beyond a level that he would never become a good enough player to perform week in week out for us. It is sad because in terms of physical presence at CB, he is not so bad.
And we are missing Clyne badly at the start of the season. Opponent teams are clearly targetting our fullbacks and playing high balls or simple passes down those lines and it is working like a treat for them.
I dont think Klopp can solve these issues overnight. He clealy messed up with the defensive reinforcements in the summer.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
I agree that lovren is not that great but he was a far far far better player when he was at saints being coached by a manager that puts a bit of effort in to the defensive side of the game.Helmer wrote:Klopp clearly overestimated his and his staffs ability in terms of coaching. Topp or Flopp?
Unique is calling for his head.
Surely he's not the only one among the Liverpool faithful who is fed up with Klopp.
Let's have a poll, and a debate.
Are you satisfied with Klopp's work so far?
Also, how do you think the general opinion among Liverpool fans? Are the majority still happy with Klopp?

Also, if you're in favour of sacking Klopp, let's talk about potential alternatives or successors.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
The man is a joke. 2 years in charge with 4 transfer windows and no improvement in any part of the pitch. Sack him right now and pay simione what ever he wants.

Ok. And in the unlikely case you can't convince Simeone to take over? Who else?

Re: Official Klopp Thread
His been so disappointing so far, on one hand I feel he knows how to manage players and help bring them in, but in the other his abilities as a coach have been very poor, his such a one trick pony it's not even funny. His ability to change games is non existent.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
I'm not sure what you guys expect though, with the other top-clubs just plainly outspending Liverpool.
Not saying Klopp shouldn't be sacked or anything (well, I lean towards let him have another season) but it's not like he's the sole deciding factor on how Liverpool do. He's up against better squads with reasonable managers.

Re: Official Klopp Thread
Viva, the problem is (it seems) that we got the money to spend but it's not being spend. I mean we offered as much as £70 for the likes of Keita, VVD and Lemar. But Klopp is/was adamant that it's just those particular players he want. It's like there wasn't any alternative who were as good. The result is we are still stuck with a limp defense and midfield.VivaStPauli wrote:I'm not sure what you guys expect though, with the other top-clubs just plainly outspending Liverpool.

Under very rare circumstance (below EL places) he will be sacked before the end of the season.
