Greatest Games of All Time

I couldn't find a thread like this so I thought I make one: what are the top 5 games you've ever played? The games which made you feel something special, the ones that left lasting memories, or hell even the ones which made grown men shed a tear or two

I've left the poll options ambiguous (e.g. Elder Scrolls could be anything from Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim) so feel free to narrow the options down in the comments.

Everyone knows how I feel about Witcher 3 and obviously my personal GOAT

The rest of my top 5 is probably Last of Us, Red Dead Redemption, Metroid Prime and Super Mario Galaxy.

Although I don't like to compare eras and would like to do a top 5 from each era that I've played but I'd have to think about it.

DW + Runescape are also favourites of mine, reminds me of my good ol days when i rushed home after school to play video games

Many others I could include like God of War, Age of Empires, Dynasty Warriors, Kingdom Hearts, etc.

I can't pick just one. World of Warcraft is the one I played the most - it left lasting impressions, and I even met a few of the Scandinavian players from that game in person. It was also the game that resulted in gaming becoming a hobby that has taken up a substantial amount of my time, ever since. Prior to WoW, the only game I sat down and played for more than an hour at a time was Final Fantasy 7. I've definitely played many higher quality games than Wow, but how do you decide which game is the greatest of all time? I can't decide. In recent memory, it has to be the Witcher 3.

Why is Starcraft not on that list? Easily the most influential game of all time (and also greatest and still the most dificult to master)

Its success is what paved the way for League of Legends, DOTA 2 and Counterstrike to fill stadia.

Also i think a top 5 for PS2 and 360 era's is way too short, there's so many games i literally consider all time greats which i left off in those two eras as they were *bleep* stacked.

There's so many amazing games that i've felt were GOAT material, i can't decides on one standout. Okami isn't listed but its one i hold dear to my heart. WoW definitely, ME2, TLOU, FIFA 10 etc, too many games

Back in 2011 i was tearing shit up with CSKA Moscow

San Andreas, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, Monkey Island, Baldurs Gate 2

Better not think too much about it or I'll never narrow it down to 5 games.
Actually really should include TW3 because it's easily the best game of the current era and the first game in years that really felt special to me. Can't decide which game to kick though so now I have a top 6 (:

I remember that game. The music in it was really catchy, and the gameplay was addictive as hell

i watched a gameplay vid on youtube for the sake of it, and now i want to play it again

How did I forget Grim Fandango, what a game

Definitely better than any 1 Monkey Island, but with MI 1-3 Maybe I got more attached to them.

I still remember the skeleton with the knife on it's back on MI3 with the tag "ask me about Grim Fandango".
