UEFA Super Cup 2017| Real Madrid v Man United
Just over 4 hours for kickoff and not a thread yet.
Wake up GL ffs!
In terms of viewership and popularity UEFA wont get a bigger game than this. 2 teams with the most fans globally.
Madrid without CR perhaps. United with Lukaku up front.
Zidane vs Jose
Good test for us to know where we stand in terms of our rebuild.
I can see Mou parking with 5 defenders and a DM and hitting them on counter tho.
Expected Man United team
ddg
lindelof-Smalling-Blind
Valencia-Herrera-Fellaini(or Matic if he is fit)-Darmian
Mkhi-Pogba
Lukaku

Madrid aren't ready. This is Ronaldo first game since the CL Final and has only been in training for less than a week.
Given the form of Bale/Benz in preseason, we really need CR lol.
Kroos has barely played too.
In any case, Madrid view this as a glorified friendly so it's no big deal.

Madrid might (would) not take this serious but I'm certain Utd would so I do hope we up our game a bit.

Oh Mou will take this big time seriously. Been playing 5 at the back throughout the pre season with one eye firmly on this game I think lol.
On one hand I want him to as a win here (a long stretch I know), will do nicely for the season hand, but on the other its kinda embarrassing, we United fans are now valuing second rate competitions such as Europa League, League Cup and Super Cup as important.

How many substitutions are allowed in this game?
If its < 5 then its a proper trophy.

Also, if there is a good time (basically every game of the season minus CDR and WCW) for Bale and Benzema to take the piss at their critics, a good performance against Utd would do the trick nicely.
Please.

Then its a proper trophy, Anyone who thinks otherwise is shitting their pants and would like to win but is making excuses before hand for a shite pre season. You can't align the Community shield and the UEFA Euro Super cup in the same domain.

Madrid better take this seriously. Tired of facing United fans on FIFA when all they do hold down R2 with Martial and Rashford

Matic-Herrera-Pogba is a proper midfield... unless Mou decides to play Fellaini or someone is injured.
Lukaka-Rashford-Lingard is utter garbage though.

Literally like the first five posts of the thread are Madrid fans making excuses before the game has even began
Anyway I can't be bothered who wins. I'll pull for United though, just barely.

Did you watch our preseason? We couldn't be bothered. Bale and Benzema had a grand total of ZERO goals and they played every game.

You can't turn on the switch that quickly... especially in the case of Bale and Benz where I am very dubious they have a switch to begin with at this point.
I agree with the rest of the team. We'll be better overall for sure. But those two guys... one can't hit the side of the barn and the other can't hit the barn because he won't pull the trigger.

It's always nice to one up your european rival but if this was Sevilla I would still have the same opinion. Last season we started our second string in this game. I am sure the players care more about the clasico eventhough thats a glorified friendly too

A point that always seems to be brushed aside because "it is just preseason". I would like us to hammer Utd, I mean, duh but Madrid really hasn't inspired confidence among its fans for the majority of its matches so far.

Bale starting. So tired of him being given everything over people actually wanting to play for us.

Premier League @PLFrance_ 4m4 minutes ago
Le XI du Real Madrid : Keylor, Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo, Casemiro, Kroos, Modric, Isco, Bale, Benzema #supercoupedeurope
Le XI de MU : De Gea; Valencia, Lindelof, Smalling, Darmian; Matic, Herrera, Pogba; Mkhitaryan, Lingard, Lukaku. #supercoupedeurope
Full teams, Not a friendly lads. Its on, Would like Real to edge it but go into depression after winning or something. Despise both clubs

Bale starting with Ronaldo not fit was a given. I don't know who else would start in Z's 2 striker system other than Bale.
Let's just hope he performs.

A cone?
The mailman?
Asensio?
Any choice is better

Surprised Mou hasnt gone full PTB by selecting 3 at the back. I dont think Matic being rushed into game like this is a good idea. And a mediocre turd like Lingard all of a sudden starting against Real effing Madrid.
