Report: Neymar Delaying PSG Move So Father Can Secure Barcelona Loyalty Bonus

Neymar is delaying his move to Paris Saint-Germain until Monday to ensure that his father picks up a €26m loyalty bonus, according to Sport.

The money will be owed to Neymar Sr. after his son signed a new contract with Barcelona last summer.

If and when the Brazilian forward does complete a move to PSG, his father will earn another €36m as a signing on fee.

Neymar Sr. could also be set to benefit from Neymar's potentially lucrative deal to become an ambassador for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Sport claim that Neymar will become the best paid player on the planet if a deal with PSG is completed.

The 25-year-old reportedly wants to be the central figure of a team, and not play second fiddle to Lionel Messi.

L'Equipe, who hasn't said much one way or another about timing, is saying that the deal will be announced today or tomorrow and the medical will be set for Friday.

I don't think there's much of a doubt the deal is going through. I think they're making sure the agreement is air tight legally given the ramifications if there's any kind of mistake.

As far as Neymar showing up for Barca training... Neymar Sr. is due 26 million on the 1 year anniversary of signing the extension last summer. It may be also a question of making sure that 1 year anniversary date is reached.

So far Messi has only lived 10.41% of his 30th year, i wouldn't say he is "soon" 31. He has at least 2-3 years of great football ahead of him.

But i agree with the rest of the post, Barca will have a major downfall after Messi, they seem to have issues in their talent evaluation. New players' quality is not anywhere close of what they had in Pep era. If the current management stays in place, only a second golden generation from La Masia can save them.
