They need fullbacks more than they need a CB.

Before they bought the 3 fullbacks the only fullback on their books was Kolarov.

Their CBs are bad but at least they have bodies who can play there Laughing

The issue isn't that they bought 3 fullbacks, it's they spent 30m on one of them to be a backup.

Absolutely *bleep* not. He's decent for the premier league more often than not. For the CL? He will get RUINED. Has zero pace and is quite questionable defensively. And he's not even THAT good at supporting Hazard/Costa(Morata now) in attack. The nature of our system just made him get some goals last season. He'll be a fantastic backup but he's not going to be an ideal option for the CL. Or even for a whole season of PL/FAC/EFLC

Alonso played good surprisingly, so did Moses. But upgrade is needed on both if we wish to reach a higher level.

Conte's system is extremely friendly to WBs.

Certainly wasn't me. Alonso is a good player. We need a great player. We need upgrades on both wing back positions ideally but we can still do really well with a world class LWB + great competition for Moses on the right (Moses I think just burned out as the season went on). And thank God Conte sees it the same way too.

So just to be clear, you're now creating scenarios that would support Alex Sandro being sold based on a link to a full back who plays on the opposite side in connection with another full back who was signed and plays on that same side.

I don't think this changes much if I'm honest, it was necessary but don't think it means much to the bottom line.

Expecting the keeper from Benfica and Silva to make a bigger impact.

If they sign a forward or CB then that's a different story entirely.
