Birmingham are trying to get Wilshere on loan.
They're also signing Alex Song.

So Mirror reporting that we accepted a 55m + 5m bid from City, as long as Monaco budge on Lemar?

Yes, anyone else is a step down, but getting rid of a 28-year-old on big wages and bringing in a younger guy with a lot of potential makes sense. We aren't challenging this year, so might us prepare for the future.
Letting this be another rebuilding year is a mistake imo. I'd rather keep him and go for broke trying to win the league; I'm not convinced by our performances thus far but I don't highly rate the other top teams in England either. Next year Utd may have Griezmann, City may have Alexis anyway...if we let Alexis go now then Arsene will never win that final EPL.
Also: 90mil for Lemar right now...wtf is this shit. He's had 1 good year. He may end up being great but that's an embarrassing fee.

Arsene will not win the league this year either, because he is a past-it washed-up manager from whom scrubs like Ox are rushing to salvage their careers. Accept it and move on mate.

I can write an essay on how much AW has lost it, but I would simply be repeating my long list of grievances with him again. No point in doing that again.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Always trying to rebuild for the future is what keeps us from ever challenging. If we don't fight tooth and nail to keep our best players, we'll just keep slipping until we aren't relevant at all. Giving up isn't what this game is about.
As shit as we've started, the other top teams in England are also not impressive imo. The league can be won, as unpopular as that opinion is after a 4-0 loss.
In 2 years, I expect the other teams to be a lot better, and more of our players could leave. Hell Arsene may even get another contract. We have to fight to win now or we'll never compete.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
My damning judgment of AW is not based on 1 match. Fwiw, I didn't even watch that match after I saw the line up.
This is what AW has been up to: Left back playing at centre back. Another left back on the bench. Third left back out of the squad. Right winger playing right back. Right back playing left back. Left winger playing centre forward. Record signing who is a centre forward on the bench. No 10 playing left wing. Captain who is defender and fit, not playing. £35m defender who was courted for almost the entire window last season on the bench and being sold to Inter.
No coaching, no instruction, no clue.
Jay and others have already written extensively about the problems with our midfield which haven't been fixed in half a decade.
And let's not forget stellar examples of AW's man management when he managed to decimate our season within a month by sending on players with insufficient warm-up and screwed one hammie after another.
The 4-0 to Liverpool is only a recent example. The problems under AW are systemic and much deeper rooted.
That's why there is no point in spending more money on him building a facade of a team again.
All we can do as fans is rely on drugs and anaesthetics for the next 2 years, or take a long hiatus from watching him clown around for this time, and pray that he doesn't win an FA Cup in 2019 and sign another 2 year deal.

Forget about signing Lemar or anyone really, I'm just glad we aren't doing something retarded like selling our 2nd choice CB with Elneny getting games there

Turned down by Vardy, Evans, Lemar and the Ox took a pay cut for a club who have won the same amount in the last 14 years as we have in the last 4....what was that about Wenger's pulling power

I thought Lemar was pretty keen on joining us in the beginning of the window.
Not surprised he has reconsidered since *sigh*

I don't think the players dislike each other. They are probably really good buddies. They don't have the appetite to play for a clueless manager who doesn't command their respect any more. They see him as a threat to their future careers.
