my god, that's netball player shooting
How does he think his arc, the most inconsistent thing in his free throw shooting is going to improve when his shooting pocket is just below his chin

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
Do you guys play?
I started playing a lot more since the start of last year. Just pick-up basketball though. Watched Steph videos religiously, and my 3-point shooting form is a bit like his, it's also the best aspect of my game. Better catch and shooter than off the dribble. Not saying that I'm anyway as great as him but it's insane, I had a knee injury recently and have been struggling finding my accuracy and consistency in the shot, and on Wednesday I watched one video on the Warriors' Instagram story of a Steph shot in training, and that day on court I swear I shot 60%.
My stance is my most irregular thing when it comes to my form. Mainly because I'm short, and I have to compensate a lot sometimes within games whether it is to dodge an oncoming defender or finding a good balance off the dribble. But my upper body rhythm and follow through is much like Steph's. Greatest feeling in the world is when my soft hand/loose wrist bounces off the release and I know that ball's destination is nothing but net.
My free throw shooting is something I had to work harder on to get going. Again I feel I have an awful assymmetrical body so a lot of compensation goes into it like usually dropping my guiding hand quickly in the shot, and placing a lot of my weight on my right leg while in shooting motion and slightly lifting and tilting my left foot's heel inward.
As for shooting ritual. Usually I plant my right foot in line with the basket, and while I bounce the ball I find the balance that works for my left foot. Bounces are irregular too. Usually 2-4, the important thing is I'll only shoot when I feel comfortable with my feet. And then my shooting pocket is about knee level, although I don't bend my knees that much so it means I bend my upper body down a lot, and then I cock my wrist backward while bringing the ball up, and then it's just the flick of the wrist at the optimum angle - which is something that usually stays consistent. And I might twirl my hand to the right on the follow through.

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
I have only played in high school really. I'm 6'3-6'4 and strong so I was usually a PF or Center. So I never really took time to learn to shoot. Can't dunk sadly, but I just overpowered people.
Want to start playing for fun again. My jump shot is horrible. It's basically a set shot knuckleball
Played Wheel Chair Basketball a couple of times. It's so freaking fun. Won the championship at school with a last second half court buzzer beater.

Fractured ankle. Idk if that is better than the leg or not, I guess the MRI will tell the ligament damage

To my extremely limited knowledge, ligament damage is worse in terms of recovery time and risk of re-injury. Recurring knee injuries are a real thing, recurring bone breaks/fractures less so
