should Liverpool give Sturridge 1 more season.
should we give deadly dan 1 more season to see if he can get fit. when fit and playing well he is the best goal getter in England but he is always on the sick list. its easy to see that when he plays we test the keeper far far more. what do you think.

That's the problem though the hot prospects are being courted by many big clubs. Only if Liverpool were to throw some cash James would have been a great buy. Maybe someone like Jesus idk but Sturridge needs to go that's for sure.

What's the problem with Liverpool though? Every random scrub PL clubs are splashing cash left right and you are saving up your piggy banks lol. Look at the amount of cash spent by big clubs everywhere.

Am not big fan of buying big names but it is what it is. If two teams are playing, one with quality individuals is gonna come out as winner more often then not. Look at Madrid, their manager is not the best tactically but the sheer quality of squad has dragged them to the place where they could be the first team to defend CL.

that's true but Liverpool are never gonna spend that kind of money tbh. if Liverpool spend 100mil on players it will be for 5-6 players not 1-2.Lucifer wrote:Am not big fan of buying big names but it is what it is. # 1. I don't think Klopp is a miser. We just don't have the pull to attract top/proven talents.Unique wrote:klopp is so tight he turns the gas off when he turns his bacon overLucifer wrote:What's the problem with Liverpool though? # 2. Not worth it. Though I'm a great admirer of Dan, he will barely make 15 games a season.
# 3. There's thread on Sturridge: http://www.goallegacy.net/t27187-sturridge-the-double-edged-sword-15?highlight=sturridge

I can't imagine Sturridge will want another season on the bench, going into a World Cup season.

if he gets fit he will start for Liverpool imo. He is by far the best goal getter we have.Hapless_Hans wrote:I can't imagine Sturridge will want another season on the bench, going into a World Cup season.

I think the evidence so far suggests Klopp's first 11, when everyone is fit, has a front 3 of Coutinho-Firmino-Mané.
Unless you think Sturridge never once was fully fit under Klopp I'd say we know that.
Sturridge should leave.
It's clear he's not clicking with Klopp, frankly observing the team's behaviour after games, on the pitch, he seems somewhat isolated, or detached, from his teammates (not that this is something I can say for sure or that must mean anything at all).
I think he'd be better of going somewhere else. And a player of his quality should be able to find a decent club, around the level of Liverpool, that starts him.

Re: should Liverpool give Sturridge 1 more season.
100% if we make CL, with all the extra games him as a backup would be awesome and if we get a run of games from him even better.
But this doesn't mean we don't still buy 1 more forward, even with klopps fav front 3 of mane , cou and bobby we won't win anything bar maybe a cup, if we're lucky. We need some near WC to come in.

Re: should Liverpool give Sturridge 1 more season.
Sturridge was on the bench (unused) for 7 games and wasn't in the squad for two other games. Aside these he was involved in 26 games, in 16 of which he came on as substitute.Hapless_Hans wrote:I can't imagine Sturridge will want another season on the bench, going into a World Cup season.
If Sturridge was fully fit (and firing), our lineup this season would have looked like:
Sturridge
Coutinho-Firmino-Mane
Coutinho-Firmino-Mane
or
Firmino-Sturridge-Mane
Lallana/Wijnaldum-Coutinho
Lallana/Wijnaldum-Coutinho
With none of our present triumvirate of Sturridge, Origi and Ings making an impact (for different reasons, altogether) this season, and the consequence being very damning; I fully expect a new CF coming in during the summer window.
That will mean at least one of the present CFs making way. While Sturridge is miles ahead of Origi & Ings; he has become the CF version of Fabio Aurelio, extremely talented but equally fragile.
