ES isn't the only one to say that and i don't get why lol.
Ridley Scott has nothing to do with the film at all.

Finished watching Your Name. This movie hit me far more than I had expected it to. I went in knowing little else than it was supposed to be very good and a slight anti high schoolers bias (which I thought was justified until halfway through) but I was really surprised by it.

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
^^Yeah don't know if I posted this, but last month we watched Your Name in class, this was my second viewing of it, and it just made me realise it is my favourite film of 2016.
Went to see IT yesterday, More hilarious than scary, but still a very good watch.
As the days go by I think worse of Dunkirk as well. Nolan needs to get down from his high horse, still don't know why critics rate it so highly I swear if this wins him an Oscar
Baby Driver is by far film of the year.
Honorable 4/5 mentions go to IT, Get Out, Logan Lucky
I'm excited for Wind River and The Big Sick. For some reason I think Snowman is gonna flop, I watched the trailer before IT yesterday. Also gonna go see Stronger soon.

Watch 5cm Per Second & The Garden of Words, much better movies from the director IMO. A lot shorter though.
Your Name was very entertaining but not as well crafted as those other two which I consider to be his best.

Disagree imo.
Loved Garden of Words though.
Anything else in that vein you'd recommend? Need to get my film watching going again

A Silent Voice.
How many Miyazaki films did you watch? They are among the best anime films ever. Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Nausicaa etc.
Grave Of The Fireflies, Akira, Ghost In The Shell are some other anime movie classics.

A Silent Voice maybe, like M99 suggested, I havent watched it but I know the source material well. Heard good things.
Hotarubi no Mori e, The Anthem of the Heart, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Wolf Children, The Boy and the Beast (not that great but still good)

Re: The Movie House - Part 10
I'll get on it soon. Got a 3 week vacation where I have to write 1 article soon. Will watch all those suggested.
Watched a handful of Miyazaki's films. They were all great to good. Howl's Moving Castle was my least favourite. Probably need to watch more. Only watched four apparently, looking at my Letterboxd.

remember seeing a few dark souls ones years ago
personally, I'm not a big fan of Miyazaki's stuff (though I haven't seen a good deal of his catalogue) his movies are always just good, not great (I really enjoyed Spirited Away though, that's one of the best)
I really need to watch a lot of the more grounded in reality Ghibli movies, the fantastical stuff is definitely not my cup of tea, I get the Disney comparisons. But I know they have a lot of slice of life type movies.
I will say though that Grave of The Fireflies is one of the most heart wrenching, bleak movies I've seen. I've never actually finished it, despite watching it 2-3 times. Too depressing.
