From my list of games, I finished Mafia 3 with all the DLCs.

Good game, but not great. It doesn't feel much like a Mafia game. The story is good, but the character (Lincoln) is not really the Mafia type guy like Tommy Angelo or Vito Scaletta were from the previous games. He is more of a Rambo, the guy who can take an army of enemies all by himself. The game is also extremely repetitive in between the main missions. Driving, graphics and soundtrack are a blast. The DLCs, imho, are worth it only when on 50% sale. Which also reminds me: I'm not buying a game on release ever again (apart from FIFA/PES). It is just hard to beat a game and come back to it 6 months after to finish the DLCs when you've forgotten a lot about it. I rather wait and enjoy the complete experience. Which is also a more economical option as GOTY games are usually around half price of what the individual sum of them go for at launch.

And now I've moved to Witcher 2, almost a year after I finished the original game and I'm roughly 50% through the game (doing all the side quests too).

What a game. The attention to detail and love this Polish company have put into this game is second to only a few revered developers. Sure, the game is clunky in mechanics and the graphics aren't on par with the games today, but the story and brilliant side quests put me to shame for defending Andromeda's. The Witcher universe is very profound. There is so much detail that goes into this game, most of which I presume are borrowed from the books?

I generally hate the complications in game mechanics that are plentiful in RPGs. Gear, potions, scrolls, etc. piss me off. I want as few abilities as possible, a game to be picked up easily in a 'easy to learn, hard to master' fashion (e.g. Overwatch). Therefore I automatically ignored the whole crafting and potion side of this game until I was put against challenging foes that were impossible to overcome otherwise. And somehow I am starting to really enjoy it, especially the variety of potions and bombs available in the game and how you can benefit from them in situational combat.

Can't wait to finish the game and see how the story unfolds. And then there is Witcher 3 to look forward to

Some aspects are borrowed from the books yes, but not everything as the games take place after the books.

Also Letho is a CDPR made character, on the potions stuff I did not touch them at all in Witcher 2.

I basically just quen and dodged my entire way through the game, I experimented a lot more in Witcher 3 though and when I play it now usually run a hybrid build of Alchemy and Signs mainly because I find the potions part of the game a lot more fun in 3.

Do you remember what difficulty you played it on? I tried it on Hard at the beginning and it was too tough for me. Then I switched to Medium and it was just right, apart from some tough fights where I needed the potions/bombs.

Medium yeah, for how I played the game I found the hardest level to be too hard lol.

The spiritual successor to Saints Row, Agents of Mayhem is being released in the middle of August. There hasn't been a lot of talk about the game on here. Any of you thinking of getting it? I only played the last 2-3 Saints Row games after they went on sale on Playstation Store, but I enjoyed them all, and I think I'll give this one a chance. It looks pretty fun, in my opinion. I appreciate the absurdity and dark humor of Volition's Saints Row series.

Hellblade by Ninja Theory getting really good reviews. And that is not on Xbox either

If a game is decent people tend to stick around, BF4 still at 14k. BF1 is at 21k. (these are primetime numbers)

On Console Battlefront had higher numbers than both those a couple of months ago.

Yeah, I mentioned Pyre a few pages back. And no, not a lot of people on here seem to care about Supergiant. I believe RG played Bastion. I'll probably get Pyre, eventually.

Got up this morning and decided to buy Hellblade

A friend of mine convinced me to purchase Undertale. I watched it's trailer, and it looked so awful that I thought it was a joke. But I've got the game now, so I suppose I might as well try it out. The PC version has a score of 92 on Metacritic, so it can't be that bad. Tell me what you think about Hellblade once you've finished it, Mole.

Not a big fan of it. Most indie games are kindly judged by Steam hipsters whereas you only need for a few bugs for an AAA title at launch for it to get overwhelmingly negative reviews.
