Just checked this now, Ronaldo has been the top scorer of the CL every single year since the 2012-13 season resulting in 6 times in a row and 7 times over all.

Him declining has had a lot to do with your success. Before he would try to do everything and shoot 30 times a game when teammates were in better positions. try to dribble from stupid positions and being a 'winger' Marcelo had no cover so he was a a tactical liability as well. Now in a 442/4312 he is actually covering less space so him not tracking back/not closing down doesn't hinder the team tbh,

Now he has a reduced role and lets people who can actually pass and bring the ball into the final 3rd do it whilst he scores tap ins.

i never thought of that but that post is actually spot on. in the past when the going gets tough he'd start blasting from odd angles or resort to the step over routine (which he still does now and again when we get desperate), but in the last few years he's been picking his spots and knowing when and where to strike

His goals this season came mainly against which teams and which stages though? I think there was a year where he scored like 5 against some minnow? Very Happy

I do remember him being crucial vs the big teams though last season.

That post originally was made about messi, and there were many categories (most chances created, most assists, most dribbles, most goals). But for Boxnaldo there is only one category and its all about goals. Never in million years he is best player

You can ask why messi doesnt score as much in CL. He scored and broke all of these scoring records in CL before ronaldo.Now his role is changed. he is a provider and most of his goals are from outside the box. You rarely see him in the box. Ronaldo is opposite, this is the reason for the gap, not because messi is lesser quality scorer

You know Valk, as much as I am enjoying seeing you go on your usual yearly anti Ronaldo rants, if it weren't for him, Madrid is not beating PSG so forget about Jjuve or Bayern and definitely forget about the 13th. He did suck in the final (6.6 according to whoscored) but if there is one player us Madrid fans should really give some leeway for, it is him.

And yes, he is a huge narcissist but there is hardly anyone at his level who isn't.
