Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
Club might use this as a "reason", more like an excuse, to extend Wengers contract. Now it's only Ozil, imagine next is Sanchez, fans will be split for sure.

Wenger can take Ozil with him and leave today if he wants.

Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
Surely it would be better if both stayed
I agree though, Özil can leave if he is so connected to Wenger. Alexis too.
If this is the price we have to pay to finally get rid of Wenger then so be it. It's not like we have had some huge success with the trio, considering the money they are paid. Neither is irreplacable.

I've read that PSG is encouraging Alexis to snub any offers from the club so they could sign him.

Alexis: I'm really happy and comfortable at Arsenal
Alexis talks life at Arsenal, his relationship with Mesut Ozil and winning back-to-back Copa America championships with Chile.

Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez set for summer transfer after series of rows saw him dropped against Liverpool
Alexis Sanchez was dropped and is on his way out of Arsenal after a series of rows with manager Arsene Wenger.
Striker Sanchez has made it clear he wants to quit this summer amid his contract stalemate, with Paris Saint-Germain firmly leading the chase.
Wenger’s patience finally snapped last week over his star forward’s attitude, and believed leaving him on the bench at Liverpool on Saturday night was the best option for the sake of team harmony.
Wenger was furious with Sanchez for being selfish, turning on his team-mates both out on the pitch and after the game.
That has continued in training, with Sanchez’s attitude and work-rate both being questioned behind the scenes because he has become increasingly difficult to manage.
It is understood there have been several rows with the 28-year-old, because Wenger feels it has been affecting the rest of the squad.
But Sanchez, who has been offered a new contract worth £180,000-a-week to replace one due to expire next year, has also made it clear that he wants to go.
French champions PSG have been courting him for months, are willing to pay around £300,000-a-week and believe they are in pole position to sign him in the summer.

Alexis Sanchez in furious bust-up with angry Arsenal team-mates just days before trip to Liverpool
Alexis Sanchez walked out of training and was involved in a furious bust-up with angry team-mates just days before being dropped to the substitutes’ bench for Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool.
It is alleged that Sanchez, who has scored 17 Premier League goals this season, walked off the training pitch mid-session last week for which a number of his team-mates confronted him in the changing-room. Sources claim a row then erupted over the attitude of Sanchez and Wenger eventually took the decision to put the Chile international on the substitutes’ bench.

Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
This has gotten messy.
David Hynter of the Guardian said they hadn't briefed by the club on this, which means it's a leak. Someone has leaked it to a) stir trouble or b) portray Alexis as the villain to protect the manager.
Now on one hand, if Alexis has been a petulant little shit then the manager has to exert his authority. Doesn't matter how important the player he is. Apparently, this stems from the Bayern game where Wenger thought Alexis turned his back on the team on and off the pitch.
On the other hand, the one with the leverage here is Alexis. He knows how important he is to us at the moment and knows he can come out of this with people's sympathy. Just act up and look sad for the cameras and he'll have everyone talking what a winner he is. He has to protect his own interests. It certainly didn't do Wenger any good that he had to throw him on at half-time against Liverpool.
Alexis' attitude is a double-edge sword. He's a "winner", yet at times can come off as immature and rub people the wrong way. Like when he was taken off against Swansea and he threw a strop on the touchline even though we were 4-0. I understand he's our best player and he's not happy with how things have gone, but at the same time he shouldn't be making it all about him. Same applies to Ozil.
I guess this is what happens when you have two outstanding players, rely on them so much yet don't win anything. Wenger can drop them but will be criticised for leaving out his best players. He can play them but be criticsed for bowing to their demands.
There's no way Alexis is staying.

Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
I'm gutted. I really love to watch Alexis play and greatly admire what he brings to the squad (on the pitch at least).
Sadly, regardless of what happens with respect to Wenger & the club this summer, right now I am not confident of Arsenal's ability to sign someone even remotely capable of replacing him in our attack.

Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
Someone close to Wenger leaked this to take the pressure off him. This person knows damn well Tuesday Arsenal going get smoked by Bayern and wants the media attention on Sanchez instead of Wenger.
If the story is true, a manager has every right to drop a player but it was a big slap in the face of all those who traveled to watch team play. When will the news on why Ozil was left behind come out? there is no way Ozil was ill to travel.
Satan Kroneke loves this and is going to cash in on Ozil and Sanchez.

If he leaves hopefully it's outside the league. Would be greatly disappointed if you guys bend over for Chelsea or City.

Doubt it will be to a PL club. Most likely PSG or Juve or bayern.

Ffs just sack the manager, a new manager can convince him to stay by promising a title challenge and better CL results.

Let's be honest here. The entire club is broken lol. From the board to the management to the coaching to the youth system to the negotiation team to the scouts to the players.
Sell the club and start over again.

Wish all our players did a Leicester and not only Alexis. The rest of our team is completely spineless and will accept whatever shit Wenger throws at them.

Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
How can you blame Sanchez?? The team as a whole isn't going anywhere with wenger while he runs his ass into the ground in training and in games. From the games I see, the team just doesn't share the same drive and work ethic even though they are perfectly capable of more, and wengers stubborn tactics and softness regarding players being dropped, I'd be mad too.
This is just from what I've seen since Ive seen a fair few Arsenal games this season, the team looks like they lack heart and don't truly have a game plan but what do I know.

nah mate they don't lack heart, they lack balls. I can guarantee you, if the new manager with some steel in him comes in and whip them a new one, they will grow back their balls and play with some commitment.
Leak story or not, aint no one with tiny bit of common sense gonna blame Sanchez for any of this, he can walk out of Emirate tomorrow and fans still applause. FFS the supposed trouble maker Sanchez was still the best player on the pitch in that 2nd half.

Pires on Bein Sports: 'Claims in press there was a fight are false. I was there. There was a bad tackle on AS, a clash, he left the pitch'
Pires: 'Fans have to understand. There was a disciplinary sanction. Nothing serious happened. I was there yesterday too.. no problem' (BeIN)
Pires also confirms on @beinsports_FR that when Sanchez walked out of training, Laurent Koscielny followed, as captain, to talk to him'
100% Coquelin.

Gabriel seems to go pretty hard on training. He caused Wilshere's last injury at Arsenal. Could be him.
But it's good to hear that this outburst was "just" a bad tackle and nothing more.

Re: Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil contract situation
This is the problem with a player like Sanchez though. Although his drive, work-ethic and passion are of great benefit when things are going well. When things turn south all the toys get thrown out of the cot.
There can be no doubt that there is a lack of leadership in this team.

Some interesting stats about Alexis. Doesn't work as hard as people think he does:
