Have to give it up to Art, I haven't been watching much of Payet but he was awful today.
I mean, he had some cute moments and some nice bits of skill, generally worked for the team so I can't say Art's assessment of him being a lazy, luxury player is right, but he wasn't much good at all. Can't really think of anything he created. Or finished. Or...did.
Antonio is the most impressive player on West Ham

I didn't watch the game yesterday - the disappointment of not seeing Carroll back when I read somewhere he should be back after the int. break was too much - but Payet has, at times at least, looked to me like he's playing like he doesn't really want to be at West Ham. Like it doesn't excite him at all. Compared to how passionately he played for France in the Euros, the difference has been huge.

Honest to god I'm not saying this to jinx Liverpool or anything, but if Klopp wins the PL with the Reds, he'll further solidify his status as one of the best managers in the world.
Same for Conte and Pochettino. Considering the difficulty they had to face to improve their teams (especially Klopp because he didn't spend that much), I think if they win the league, only Leicester's fairy-tale would outweigh their success.
Of course it's still way too early and we'll have to wait until Fabruary to know who's really challenging for the title. But what they have done so far is nothing short of impressive, and I really, really hope for the sake of football that these three will succeed with their teams.

Resultwise, it was very interesting yesterday. Liverpool draw, City win, both equal on points. If Chelsea win or even draw, the table will look even more interesting. This is shaping up to be a thriller of a season

1-0 Chelsea. Costa.
Chelsea have had the better chances and deserve to be ahead. Boro have competed but look blunt going forward and haven't tested Chelsea's defence enough.

not a big margin but they will win it comfortably 2-0. Traore has amazing physicality and ball controll but he needs to make runs and find himself in a space where he can do something.

Chelsea missing too many chances now. Unlucky with the post and that fantastic save by Valdez. They might end up getting hurt by this.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 6
Hazard with the reins off his neck and absteined from his defensive duties and with the license to fluctuate all over the attacking front because we finally have a propulsed left footed LB is such a joy to watch. On track to become POTY again.
Costa seems to really enjoy his football too now that our offensive maneuver has him a lot more involved and has repaid us with a much improved ethics and efficiency. More goals and less brawl with the CBs.
I really hope we don't rest on our laurels and acknowledge that we're not invincibles and are very susceptible to an adequate tactical approach against us.
Since switching to this system 6 games ago, no manager has come to the conclusion that Moses and Alonso are actually devastating and crucial to all of our goals. PL teams are not used to face 2 wingers + 2 wingbacks bombing forward at the same time. They often press Kante and Matic or our CBs who are innocuous and don't provide any threat leaving MA3 and VM15 with acres of space ahead of them. The most comfortable on the ball and incisive passer of the bunch is Luiz and he still dwells too much on the ball and makes the odd overeager and rash play.
I remember when a poster named huntsman would come to the Chelsea section a couple of years ago saying how being a competent passer is imperative for a CB and that you can't get away with it, and I'd always discredit him and brushed him off. Now I truly understand how wrong I was.

The same poster also gushed about how much Mou is a much better manager than everyone else, and how Chelsea or any other team that sack him will end up the losing side.

The ball is going to stay in the center circle for 90mins while both teams are parked in front of their defensive third. Both coaches will come out in their post match interviews and sing praises of their hard fought 0-0 point.
