Re: Pep Guardiola sack watch
they will beat West Brom at the weekend to end the drought but the worrying (for them) thing is I have watched every game from them this season and they haven't played like a team that looks great in any of them..they've had 30 mins here, 20 mins there but never an entire game

Mentioning this like you didn't expect it
They played their reserves, if Man U didn't win it would have been a joke.
That said this thread is deserved but lets not act like tonights result changes anything positively or negatively.

They are still top of the league and will more or less qualify for R16. No crisis till they are out of the top 4 imo

City simply have too many players who are past their prime. It's bound to show.

doesn't help that aguero is done
think he's missed more pens this season than he has scored goals
used to carry them to 3 pts at times

Unreal
And people still will deny the expectations on him are higher than any other manager.
He should be doing better than he is but if anyone else was top of the league not a single word would be uttered about that manager.
As soon as he's treated like every other manager is and not as some sort of super hero i'll stop my crusade against GL tbh.

If they lose to Barca at the Etihad with Gladbach beating Celtic at home, both of which is not terribly improbable, we'll have a decisive game Gladbach-City at the Borussiapark, with City needing to win or draw depending on the other match day.
And a must win for Pep in a CL away game is a pretty steep task given his record

It's a horror show. People have been clamoring for Zidane to get fired for a month now. On the Madrid board no less... so they're not even trolling

That's exactly right Mole.
It's there black on white, plain for everyone to see. With no other coach else, not one period, would be posts like the ones about his City now, "crisis", "failing", etc, when they are top of the table
It's completely different, uncomparably higher expectations to anyone else.
Guess though that proves even his haters subconsciously know he's the best coach around.

it's just banter tbf although I still think it's worrying that they haven't looked great at all this season, not once, and they've had a relatively easy schedule compared to their rivals. In the league.

I can think of a few Madrid teams that are infinitely worse in the last 10 years matter about the rest.

Re: Pep Guardiola sack watch
I find it somehow hypocritical that you would come up with every excuse under the sun to justify Z's four draws in a row, while at the same time creating a thread to bash Guardiola for not being able to win in the last six games.
I remember vividly that your excuse to defend Z when we weren't winning whilst playing horrendous football was "We're still top of the table". Well, in case you didn't notice, Pep is also still top of the table.
I just find it strange that for you the excuses of "we're still top of the table" and "it's too early to judge" is only applicable to Z and your countrymen, everybody else has no excuse for not living up to expectations.
Having said that, I must say that I'm glad you listed the Barça rout of City as one of the main reasons he should be sacked. At least now, I can breathe easy knowing that you won't forgive Z if he loses to Barça.

If it means anything, I was gonna laugh at either Mourinho or Pep today.

Pretty much this.
I think any other top club going through the same rough patch will definitely be scrutinized, Pep or no. It's why Mou is getting ripped apart.
Why this may not have been City's AAA team or whatever, after you spend 200m or whatever and can pretty much buy who you want to buy, there should not be that big a talent gap between your teams. If after 200m your bench is poor, well, then you did not do a great job with those 200m, period.
What I can do understand, is that it's still very early for City and for Pep to have his first choice XI cemented as a coach after years under a club usually has. Tactically, there's a lot of work to be done and I personally think they have some mediocre areas that still need improvement (fullbacks, center midfield, IMO).
There is no way in hell Pep is getting sacked nor is City not going to be challenging for the title, though. Now in the CL it's a different matter and where historically (manC istory, lulz) ManC have done shit all in.
Still no way in hell can you sack a coach like Pep after a single season. Not going to happen.

Re: Pep Guardiola sack watch
Ridiculous thread after tonight's game when best United XI played City reserves. However I would be furious if I'm City supporter and I pay for a ticket 45 pounds to watch Garcia, Navas and rest of this average players failing to manage 1 shot during whole game. Guardiola should started Silva in place of Garcia and City then might have a chance.
As for Guardiola I reckon City will draw at Etihad vs Barca, Gladbach will beat Celtic. So City will have 5 pts, Gladbach 6 after 4 games. City will have to beat BM away to go through this group as Barca will play second string players vs BM in matchday 6. If City come 3rd in this group, then maybe this thread will have some credibility.
