Tactical masterclass and banter from Klopp, Using Pardew's aerial tactics to beat him.

Geez, I should be watching this game.
I only predicted Liverpool to score 4, should have gone higher.

Just seen that Crystal Palace scored twice and Benteke contributed in none of them

If only Matip had a better defensive partner.
What a beast he is. Absolutely won everything that came his way. And then Lovren goes ahead and gifts Palace two goals.
Can't wait for Van Dijk next season.
Coutinho MOTM by far.

Lovren was top class under poch and now Spurs are the best defensive team in England. I wonder if the 2 are linked

And that's Jordan Henderson for you
Had that been Xavi, the forum would have orgasmed in about 2 seconds.

don't think city or arsenal and spurs have anything to worry about with Pool, they are disgusting defensively. If Coutinho or Firmino are off their game they will drop points consistently going forward. Can't wait for AFCON too. Mane needs to get lost for a while.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 5
That sounds more like a wish
Liverpool are here to stay IMO. Unlike Rodgers, Klopp has the experience to make sure Liverpool stay at the top of their game. They will outscore most teams as they have scored THREE times more than any other team since Klopp took over.
I do think they will go through a purple patch around Jan but they will challenge or even win the title till the end. They have no fixture congestion like City, Arsenal or Tottenham do either. Fresh squad with one game a week from feb-may

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 5
Firenze is definitely talking out of his ass and more of wishful thinking like RG said.
Our defensive mistakes are individual player mistakes. We are not disgusting defensively. In fact from open play we have one of the best defenses in the league considering how offensive our system is and how little clear cut chances other teams create against us.
Today Lovren single handedly conceded two goals otherwise it was a routine 4-0 or more with the amount of chances we had.
They didn't create any outlandish chances where Karius made an unexpected unbelievable save. He saved some routine shots outside of the gift goals we gave them.
In fact it was a positive today considering we didn't concede from a set piece. How often do Lucas and Lovren type mistakes happen? Not often. I'm glad they are coming in games we are winning.
This having unbelievable 'super defense' talk is nonsense anyways. It's not doing Spurs any good playing outrageously defensively every game and failing to make a mark on offense and struggling to score.
I rather win 5-4 than be getting 0-0s.

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 5
The only problem you have by winning 4-2 instead of 2-0 is it gives other teams hope. Even when we go 2-0 other teams still beleave they can get something out of the game so instead of going 2-0 up after 60mins then having a easy 30mins we end up under pressure for the last 30mins. Giving away silly goals like we do just gives the other team beleave that they can get back into the game

i don't know where else to post this; but that aguero pass today was simply sensational. the defense didn't even know where the ball was. i'm not one to laud strikers for their passing skill, but that was brilliant to watch. reminds me of when guti mentally broke sevilla's defense with a heel-pass...nice move by aguero, nice move

Re: English Premier League '16-'17 Discussion - Part 5
Decent Super Sunday tomorrow
Everton Vs West Ham (13:30BST)
Everton are pretty good under Koeman and Lukaku has started firing too. Bolasie has adapted well while the defence isn't half bad either. Everton basically are a much better team than they were under Roberto Martinez and they should prove that by finishing in the top 8 this season. West Ham on the underhand started the season really badly but they have turned the season around in recent week. This kinda makes the match difficult to predict. Odds should say Everton are favourites but West Ham do have Payet who is a genuine difference maker.
Going with a 2-1 to Everton.
Southampton Vs Chelsea (16:00BST)
Puel, just like Koeman, has done remarkably well so far with Southampton. They are a good team who play good football but their strength mainly comes from the fantastic CB partnership between Van Dijk and Jose Fonte. But that's not to take away from the dangerous partnership of Austin and Redmond up top either. Southampton are what you would call 'an upper mid team'. They are unbeaten in 5 and certainly not that much worse than Chelsea who come in to the match as slight favourites. Chelsea took a bit of a hammering by Arsenal couple of weeks ago and that prompted Conte to change his system slightly and bring in players who are actually suited to his system and the way he wants to play. Moses and Marcos Alonso have been exceptional as wingbacks. Diego Costa is scoring again and Hazard has found his magic again. Chelsea have scored 9 goals without conceding any in their last 3 PL matches against United, Leicester and Hull.
This makes tomorrow's match impossible to call.
A 1-1 draw perhaps?

He was not top class. Stop trying to re-write history / listen to Curtinho.
He was always a rash defender that was bailed out by Wanyama / Schneiderlin / Fonte / a defensive structured side.
With that said, he's done okay this season. Just shitty how Sakho pissed off El Kloppo because he should be starting over him...... but is now looking to be sold in January instead fml.
Matip and Sakho would of been very good together. Both dominant in the air, both comfortable with the ball at their feet, both can read the play... just a shame.
