i also assumed everyone would pick iker as most valuable which is why i excluded him.

Carvalho for 8 mill is a killer.

All right, excluding Casilas, excluding our buy this season since I think I need at least to see them perform 1 season before judging & ignoring the value we get outside the pitch...........

Hmmm.. it's hard to make a rank, you need to actually put the money value you think the player is worth and then compare it to the money you paid for the transfer fee, and should we also consider the inflation effect? I mean 28M we paid for Ramos back then /= 28M we paid last year for example

Players that probably I put on the top in this list are (in no particular order):

carvalho & arbeola are a steal for sure, but I also consider age as a factor

Somewhat more expensive players like Alonso and Pepe are bargains too.
Especially Alonso, I would say. They are the cruxes of our team, and especially Alonso should have gone for more.

Drenthe I'd rank with the terrible buys. Pretty expensive too (outside Madrid context).

Judging by last season carvahlo was the best value for money.
In the long run it will be Ozil

Ozil is the obvious bargain, Sahin could follow. Ramos is also a great deal, 28 mil back in the galacticos era for a defender like that to dedicate his whole carreer to Madrid, and he is only 24. Ronaldo goes without saying, same with Casillas. Alonso maybe?

i actually just stumbled on it when i was glancing real madrid's wiki page if you go to 2011-2012 squad page.

but all the information there is taken from http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk

its just nice to see all the information on the wiki page because you can sort by appearances, join date, goals etc.
