Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
Situations
Lets say Zenit St Petersburg sells a player to Juventus
Cup tied:
- if Zenit and Juve played in CL group stage
- if Zenit and Juve played in Europa League group stage
- if Zenit played then lost in CL qualifications (at any stage) and got reversed to Europa, while Juve played in CL
- if Zenit was playing in CL and finish 3rd of their group, while Juve played in Europa group stage
Not cup tied:
- if the player was not registered for european matches by his former club (obviously lol)
- if the player compete in UEFA Supercup with his former club but was sold before the squad submission deadline (in the summer so does not apply in this case)
- under extremely rare circumstances the UEFA will waive the rule
So i'm 99% assuming Witsel is available since i could not find an exact answer for this particular event. Logically it would have been one of the first specifications.

All the hate at Lemina.. yes he had below-par matches in the last few weeks, he is out of form, moreover his position seems pretty unknown still.
He was really promising last year, I wouldn't give up on him. But I agree we should really bench him asap.

The biggest shame is that Mandragora got injured before the season started, the kid is so talented and is an actual regista. This would have been the perfect chance. He is supposed to rejoin the group in november. If he leaves on loan there is early talk of Empoli and Pescara, who I think would be the best team because of his history with Oddo.

Lemina promising? No he's consistently shown he's a very stupid player and makes shitty decisions on the reg
His physical attributes and skill on the ball are decent, and can keep on improving but his football IQ is down the shitter.

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
center midfield is really difficult to play
on the wings? yes its easier for players like coman, neymar but in the center? boy you have so many players around and its easy to get a blured vision
lemina and sturaro should focus to add energy in the center that is my expectation from them, it is players like pjanic, khedira, marchisio, hernanes who should take more responsibility on tactics, positioning, ball possession, creating and such things
lemina and sturaro should simply chase the ball around to make pressure-defense game, and less red cards

Juventus (3-5-2): Buffon; Barzagli, Bonucci, Evra; Dani Alves, Khedira, Marchisio, Sturaro, Alex Sandro; Mandzukic, Higuain.
A possible line up for tomorrow! Would love to see that!
Sturaro!!

Marchisio and Khedira confirmed by Allegri, as well as the attack. Apparently the doubts are Chiellini-Evra and Sturaro-Asamoah. Evra supposedly preferred to play as LB at times during the match. Pjanic is given a rest.
We qualify with a win!
Lyon will give a good game but I really only see us winning. Last match was screwed up by Lemina and a bad ref. We've yet to concede in the CL this season, should keep it up.

The media reporting the possibility of a 4-3-1-2
Buffon; Dani Alves, Barzagli, Bonucci, Evra; Khedira, Marchisio, Sturaro; Pjanic; Mandzukic, Higuain.

We started pretty good but we looked kinda lost in the last 10 minutes O.o
Pjanic is a problem for Allegri I am sure he is trying his best to find him the position he plays best but imo Allegri needs to ditch that defensive instructions he has set for him.

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
I used to watch a lot of football, outside of a couple big games I only bother with Juve now but this is becoming a chore. I feel like i'm wasting 90 minutes of my *bleep* life watching a team that can't string 3 passes together so if this keeps up i'm taking a nice long break from football. Got other shit to do in my evenings. Pathetic.

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
It's the entertainment factor. We don't have it. Could have easily spent my afternoon watching paint dry instead, at least paint doesn't spend 90 minutes passing to Bonucci and hoping for a miracle.
Same reason we'll never compete financially with the big boys. They attract new fans and even plastic fans being idiots they are key in merchandise sales. And nobody in their right mind is tuning in to backpass Juve over well marketed, exciting teams.

Re: Juventus Champions League campaign 2016-17
Pjanic was the big disappointment. With Dybala out it was on him to be the AM. Had 3 guys behind him, two CFs in front and just failed to do much. Long adaptation it seems.
If Dybala is out we have to start Cuadrado. Pjanic can't be relied on consistently yet.

Wait what? Mandzukic was the only one giving shit, he played CM, DM, CB, RB, LB, SS, CF, AM everything he was everywhere ffs.
Allegri has to do something about his. His - We didn't play bad - is starting to worry me like A LOT.

Main man Tom, I think I said the exact same thing to my friend earlier. I missed the game because I was at work but hearing how bad we played from him made me not regret anything.
Sometimes results don't come but sometimes it isn't about winning or losing (but if you're playing bad please at least bring home these three points in the CL of all competitions), but its the approach, its the way we play. Despite the immense amount of talent, the approach is just plain bad.
How can we expect to win the CL if we are not a fortress at home? Just the opposite, draws against Lyon and Sevilla, not easy games by any means but games you surely expect to win, I think that's fair for the team we are fielding.
I think this season's story is beat the smaller teams in Italy quite comfortably, win the odd big game at home and come up short in games like away to Milan, Inter, Roma and Napoli (2 losses in 2 so far).
The CL is all about the draw and it is far from over, we also have the luxury of time to recuperate but I think I speak for everyone when I say this is not the Juventus we have seen in the past 4-5 seasons.
Tom is the British version of me
