That said, fully expect Kloppoball to kill our inexistent defense, unless we play 3 DMs or something.
He hasn't changed much?????????????
Also, meant no disrespect to Arsenal, just sayin' he'll throw everything at that defence, we don't have someone that's tactically inept anymore so he'll want to exploit any weakness
He has? Just curious, but in what way? (I admit I have been on somewhat of a sabbatical from watching games since Nov last year, so didn't watch you guys much either)
Fully expect Klopp to throw everything, and at quite some intensity, at us. Think we'd play more like the away team. smh

Re: Arsenal vs Liverpool
Has stabilized the club.
Has a vision.
Has brought in depth / players that suit his style.
He's actually had a pre-season and thus been on putting in said vision / his style.
Has built team chemistry.
Can go on and on really. But at the end of the day we have a leader in charge, and he's got the winning mentality we need to succeed / get out of this mediocre state we've had in the passed.

OH NO! I didn't mean he hasn't changed Liverpool
I meant he hasn't changed in his style/approach to how he plays - i.e. he didn't change from love/preference for heavy metal.

Re: Arsenal vs Liverpool
well Klopps loves Lallana and Firmino both. Both of them are fit also compared to Origi, so I expect Origi to come on for Lallana after 55 minutes.
We will dominate Arsenal for sure but as usual surrender, then come back with 1 point only

Re: Arsenal vs Liverpool
We should have a proper striker (which means Origi) instead of Firmino playing false-9.

Re: Arsenal vs Liverpool
I disagree. Firmino offers both the movement of a #9 at times, combined with the ability (and willingness) to vacate the space, which could be influential against inexperienced CBs. With Firmino dropping deeper, he will look to draw CBs out of position, opening more space for Mane to run into.iftikhar wrote:We should have a proper striker (which means Origi) instead of Firmino playing false-9.
Starting Firmino also allows us to bring Origi off the bench against tired legs, if we need a goal in the second half. This could be a valuable option playing away from home against a top4 team.
I certainly think we can beat Arsenal tomorrow. However, I can just as easily see our defense going braindead for a period and conceding a decisive goal. I fully expect to see a Klavan/Lovren partnership tomorrow. They're the only pairing that has had any time to develop a true partnership. However, this concerns me, as our midfield will likely not be proficient at shielding the backline. Lovren's certainly improved (would be hard not to) since Klopp has come in, and Klavan has looked quite decent (meant as a compliment) since joinging. However, both have their weaknesses, and without a Sakho or a Karius type organizer, I could see the backline being exploited by Arsenal's technically/tactically-proficient AMs.
TBH, I'm hoping to see the midfield3 tomorrow, as I think it will help us control the game and mitigate the risk of a somewhat shaky defense. Whether it's Lallana-Can-Henderson, Wijnaldum-Can-Henderson, or Lallana-Can-Wijnaldum, I don't know that it matters too much... All are good in possession, and the sheer number of players will come in handy to stifle Arsenal's attacks.
My lineup for tomorrow would be:
-------------Firmino
--Coutinho--------------Mane
----Wijnaldum---Henderson
---------------Can
Moreno--------------------Clyne
---------Klavan---Lovren
-------------Mignolet
Keep in mind this allows us to bring on Origi, Lallana, Ojo, and/or Markovic if we're chasing, and Stewart should we look to solidify the midfield and sit on a lead.
All in all, I'm just excited to see this side in a competitive match. We've seen a lot of permutations and tried to infer how Klopp will act/react in a competitive situation. Well, now we finally get to see. Gotta love the first weekend of a new season. It's always our year for at least one weekend, isn't it?

Re: Arsenal vs Liverpool
Agreed about the Firmino part, But that'll work assuming Arsenal come out and attack us properly. A cautious approach from Arsenal could lead to Firmino having a dire game.
Also some bad news, Can is rumored to be out for this game.
So we may see Henderson-Wijnaldum pairing as Lucas is injured.

Three debuts, hopefully they'll prove me wrong that our transfer window's been shite.

I could kill Moreno with my bare hands. God I never want to see his face ever again in my life. So sick and tired of him.

Why does Liverpool have to spoil the perfect day everytime smh. 4-1 would have been just the ideal start the team needs. Congrats Kloppo though. Best coach in world imo

Im bloody glad Arsenal scored 3, So much to work out in that defense again, Attack delivered as expected.
Great game, Arsenal have mostly always had my respect and they continue to do so. Wish them all the best.
Wijnaldum can't play CM without Can.
Moreno needs to be sold.

Huge win. Away at the Emirates is a very tough game. That's big 3 points.

Re: Arsenal vs Liverpool
One of Can and Stewart ALWAYS have to start.
I do not ever want to see Hendo as the DM. He's awful. Has zero sense of tactical understanding. He just runs around in that center like a headless chicken. He's shit on the ball as well. He and Milner should be competing with Wijnaldium and Lallana for one of the runner spots ahead of the DM.

I really hoped you lads will score a couple more so that we can have a real meltdown.
That pseudo comeback now means we have to listen to the same rhetoric of mental strength.

For us it's actually better to have fallen apart.
Klopp should now hopefully be forced to drop Moreno and buy a LB.
I think the sooner Mignolet, Lovren, and Moreno are not starting for us the better. Can't wait for Matip and Karius and a LB to *bleep* claim their spots already.
