When a player is stuck in Russia for like 5 years it's usually a good indication he isn't that good.

Most of the players who stay in Russia for a lengthy period of time when they get out absolutely suck.

Luckily Witsel stays there so nobody can prove it

Luckily we have national team games to judge a player (as well as their career before moving to Russia). Witsel has always been pretty solid, with some very good games, for Belgium.

But I'll defer to James for talent evaluation in Russia I guess.

Agree. People seem to have completely ignored Witsel's, for example, Euro performances which were more than decent regardless of the shameful exit.

Because international performances are completely irrelevant, he wasn't anything more than average if you base those performances over an entire season anyway.

The amount of players who are not that good who look " decent " at international tournaments and then do *bleep* all during the seasons is closer to a 100 than a dozen.

For example Carlos Sanchez looked really good for Colombia at the WC and he's been *bleep* shit ever since, so many other examples.

It makes me laugh that people still fall for international tournament performances at the end of a long season.

When 9 times out of a 10 those players prove they are not that good, kind of want him to be signed so this shit can end though.

Think about it, you are judging your opinion of a player based on a half a dozen game stretch. If that happened during the league season we would see about 30 players being hyped ( maybe more ) during the season lol.

The amount of crap PL players who look good for the first two months and then fall apart is in the dozens every year, that's basically what you are doing by rating players based on international tournaments. ( where the level is a lot lower than club football anyway)

Or maybe mole, those players have a lot better talent around them at NT than they do at club... which is definitely true of Carlos Sanchez.  You can say in the inverse too for players who don't perform well at NT because their NT is less talented than their club players.

You really have something special when a player can be effective regardless of the level of his teammates.

Or it's because the great players have been playing 50+ games at a high level and come into another tournament with no breaks which makes it easier for the scrubs who have played less games with less intensity to shine.

A lot of players play around 50...  In France, you have the league and 2 cups which leads every ligue 1 team to play 45+ games.  Same in the EPL.  Maybe if you play in Italy, Spain or Germany, you get closer to 40.

Number of games don't mean a whole lot unless they're concentrated very late in the season....  and that's really only the Europa and CL finalists that have that problem.  If you can get a full month between the end of the club season and the NT tournament, you're fine.

Griezmann played the CL final and he didn't seem to suffer much in the Euro other than the first 2 games.

I got 6GB on my iphone in Canada. I also have 300GB on my home internet connection. I thought Canadian prices were high, is it more expensive overseas?

Yea becoming more and more common now. People are abandoning normal broadband and getting unlimited 4G packages and use a device as a router instead.

have a friend that lives in Canada, internet and phone plans are pretty outrageous. Limited data caps are a scam but these companies basically have carte blanche in NA and other markets that have them. Love dem UK prices. Free BT Sport too
