No it would make a lot of sense actually if they are targeting Alaba the midfielder. If they deem Pogbito as too much money, going for Alaba to fill that position would be a really smart move.

Alaba is not cheaper than Pogba though.

Pogba would have cost them 125m €, Alaba is one billion.

Alaba would be an unreal signing for anyone. He's 24 too. Higuain and Pogba went for 100M this window, Alaba shouldn't go for anything less. No chance he moves.

Matuidi to Juve is a pretty good move... Juve do well with very good CMs that are starting to decline. They tend to rejuvenate at Juve. Same with all positions really Laughing

Matuidi is basically the anti-Pogba, I wouldn't mind. I prefer him to Witsel, that's for sure.

Matuidi is 29 and he is not much without his athleticism, 35 mill is too much money for me. Witsel would be cheaper, is 27 and could turn out good (not gonna pretend that I watch the russian league).

Neither are exciting though, I would be fine with a healthy Asamoah with a side of Sturaro and we wouldn't have to spend.

Not sure if Witsel was going to be cheaper. They bought him 40 millions and they have no reason to sell.

Witsel publicly asked out of Zenit. The news is he is gone 100% and the offers, Juve and Everton, 20 and 25 respectively. They are probably not too off the mark, but who knows.

Would have taken him at Liverpool. Not sure there's room for him now. Though I prefer Wijnaldum anyway because I'm Dutch and biased. Still, having him there to play in midfield as a rotational player or if we switched to a midfield 3 would be nice.

When a player is stuck in Russia for like 5 years it's usually a good indication he isn't that good.

Most of the players who stay in Russia for a lengthy period of time when they get out absolutely suck.
