FFs
I've really had enough of this shit. How are we not supposed to get paranoid if this shit turns out every time.
Oh we've arrested the wrong guy, attack is 36 hours past and we don't know what's up but HEY LOOK there's a PASSPORT of the perpetrator under the driver's seat.
Seriously? You hijack a truck, shoot the driver, plow into a christmas market, and somewhere in between you drop your identification papers in the truck cabin? That's the story the police want us to believe?
How the *bleep* does this shit fly? This is the kind of stuff that gets me seriously worried.

This is how politics work. It isnt new because any time any sanction of Israel comes up US and the west close circles. Its called doing favors for your friends. You seem to have a reluctance to touch my main question though.
Who benefits from Asian infighting/Sinophobic western propaganda? We can go through history and the Chinese spoils against India, or in Kashmir, are mere specs of paint on a large mural of Western dominance. Modi ran to the very people who have propped up Pakistan against them for years. Because he accepts his place below Western powers much more readily than he does another Asian state. Its really sad to see honestly, but we have to be able to view it for what it is if we want to change it.
There is no permanent friends and foes in international politics. We know West have supported Pakistan against India but now that India have emerged as the winner West wants India. Everybody bets on the winning horse.
International politics works on economic term, modi doesn't give a *bleep* about ego as you are implying. It's all about economics.
The alignment with West is pure economics and Chinese rivalry . India also changed its policy from socialism to open market. India need capital and West have it. India need technology West have it. West needs labour India have it.
China is directly competing with India. Their manufacturing jobs are going to India. Last year India overtook china as the biggest FDI recipient. India as Economic power is huge threat to China who wants to rule Asia on its own term.
China blocked India's NSG ( Nuclear Supplier Group) entry because then India can power FADS that produce electronic products using nuclear energy. Which will take away Chinese haegymony on electronic device production ( the likes of foxconn that produce apple) .
As long as India is providing cheap labour it is a threat to China. China is a dictatorship, what will happen when people gets frustrated of stagnated wages and loss of jobs? Riots. They knows it.
So there are obvious glaring errors which need to be addressed. For one after the Mumbai terror attack no1 needed to convince India - The government was criticized for giving an incredibly timid response. There was large scale sharing of data with Pakistan to bring the Pak terrorists to justice but with constant attacks happening, India has now given up on sharing data & request action. There was never a threat of war to that.
Secondly regarding Afghanistan, there is no issue about colonization but strategic alliances. India-Afghan were historic allies prior to Taliban taking over. And it is not just natural resources, India has invested huge money in aid & infrastructure to rebuild Afghanistan. The primary reason is that a healthy democratic stable Afghanistan is better for regional stability. No1 wants to see it go over to the Taliban. Secondary reason is to increase influence which every country wants. From an Afghan perspective it makes sense because many agencies in Pak & the Pak establishment is actively supporting the Haqqani network, promoting bombing in Afghan & Pak is housing most of the taliban - So it makes sense.
Regarding India-West strategic alliance, it makes sense for obvious reasons - India has grown increasing capitalist - Russia, a long term India ally is not longer a huge player & the West-India have some shared values like a multi-ethnic, multi-racial, multi-cultural democracy. There is also huge exchange of personnel & trade.
For the idea of India-China rivalry is overblown. For ex - Modi, the PM, had great ties to China when it came to business ventures as CM of Gujrat. India & China collaborate for BRICS (Brazil Russia India Chine South Africa) - They have set up a common bank named NDB in Shanghai. India & China are allies when it comes to Climate Change pushing Western countries to take the bulk of the emission cut limits.
The India-China rivalry is primarily somewhat due to the ongoing competition & majorly due to China's alliance with Pak (which is pushing India further to the West). China has refused to acknowledge many international terrorists of Pak & is providing pak nuclear technology, building infra in disputed India-Pak land & is actively turning a blind eye to Pak's support of terror groups.
On the long term if China abandons support of Pak, especially to terror groups, there is significant scope of a India-China alliance in many matters.
Iran & India are historical allies but India-Saudi & India-Sunni Muslim countries too have historical good ties. Turkey is the only strong ally of Pak in the Muslim world (many other Muslim countries sympathize with pak) but India too has decent relations with investment & manpower exchange (India although a Hindu majority has millions of Muslims living in as well).
I don't see the possibility of an India-Pak war as both countries are strongly against war (people I mean - atleast Indian people are) - An allout war of 2 nuclear powers is not acceptable today - So there will be border firings & terror activities. India also has a No first use nuclear policy while Pak stupidly threatens nuclear weapons from time to time.
The problem with pak is not just radicals but the military. Every now & then a military coup happens & that is the last thing any1 wants. Also since Pak has nuclear weapons, it makes sense to see more economic growth, democracy & tolerance so that these weapons don't go in the hands of terrorists

Islam requires you to speak Arabic and Turkey is an Islamic country.
Could have easily been kurds.

In Turkey, people speak Turkish, not Arabic. Except if they're Arabs, of course.

The Quran is only supposed to be read in Arabic, so a muslim nation will have large numbers of people who can speak words in Arabic.

Yeah ok. But what's your point? If the attacker "spoke Arabic" as myeascats claims, he's either an Arab or, according to your argument, some other guy who is so Islamic that he speaks Arabic when shooting people.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
It was probably a Kurdish attack and the Kurds are not ISIS.
Turkey is not an Arabic country, Nor is it Islamic. It's Islam dominated while being Secular and democratic.
DuringTheWar has literally no idea about the differences between a Kurd fighter and a ISIS fighter but doesnt fail to bump this thread.
Aren't the Kurds sponsored by Britain?

Can't know if it was kurds or isis yet. PKK said it wasn't them as "they would never target civilians", meanwhile IS hasn't claimed it yet they immediately claimed the Berlin attack. It could also be an unaffiliated attack done US-style.

Thats what I meant too, the PKK is the banned Kurd party. They are saying that it wasn't the Kurds since they don't target civilians outright. Obviously they could be lying or simply have no knowledge, but the Kurd rebels do focus on military and political targets.
Hard to know who did it.

They have absolutely 0 expertise in any attack. All they can do is preach and then claim assuming the guy is dead or not.
They are worse than Al Qaeda and the Taliban. Its stupid to associate it with them bevause 90% of these guys are Islamic extremists rather than ISIS scum.

Re: ISIS terror attacks around the world
Probably not ISIS related but the latest attack on a Mosque in Quebec was carried out by Alexandre Bissonette and Mohamed Khadir. Eye-witness claims the gunmen shouted 'Allah Akbar', one of them is supposed to be Muslim.
Terror attack carried out by Muslims on a mosque? Wait, what?
