Re: EURO 2016 France - R16 - England Vs Iceland
It's every *bleep* tournament.
We beat up some scrubs in qualifying, everyone is happy. We kind of have a plan for the tournament.
Then a few players have some good form or return from injury and whatever plan we had is ripped up months before the tournament begins.
England play warm-up friendlies before the tournament "experimenting" and "finding the best formation". A month before the tournament even begins. No other nation does this.
The tournament starts and the lack of planning and system is brutally exposed.
Now we'll beat up some scrubs and the cycle will repeat itself.

I'm sad for the Euro. Germany v Italy will be great. Poland v Portugal will be interesting. Heck, even Wales with Bale and Ramsey will give Belgium a match I think. But France is, yet again, playing a team that is looking to put up a brick wall and counter. Granted, Iceland are very good at it and very fit. But it's just not fun football.

Roy Hodgson earns £3.5 million pounds a year. The highest paid manager at Euro 2016.

Peter Crouch is sitting there in ITV's studio saying that every England player has desire and passion, and the only reason they fail is because of pressure.
Because no other country has to deal with pressure and scrutiny and criticism, right?
Mental midgets, the lot of them.

Ha ha ha ha...if England doesn't get rid of overrating themseves and mule tacticts hit and run the ball I'm affraid a trophy may not come even after 2066.
They need a new philospohy in teams and a non-english coach.

roy hodgson is so *bleep* clueless lmao
not entirely his fault since the players showed no desire and you wouldn't have known they were playing for their NT
but yeah, showed he is a clueless dinosaur thoroughly, needs to get sacked tonight

So do think your England is any better than Spain now? At least we lost to a world class team.

Did you even watch the game? Iceland did not play with 11 men behind the ball the whole time. They created even better chances than England did.
England played like a pub team and couldn't even complete a 5 yard pass or put in a cross, or keep a free kick from flying into the stands. Iceland will give France a better match than they would have.

His contract was expiring after the tournament anyway. Him staying on depended on how well we did

Iceland didn't really set up a wall though, England just isn't that good. You're likely to get a more entertaining match vs Iceland than you would of vs Yoy and company

Re: EURO 2016 France - R16 - England Vs Iceland
I thought the Croatia Portugal match was awful but England's performance top that one. Kane on free kick duty, Rooney as a deep lying playmaker, no one could complete passes well or at all, absolutely awful defending and useless wide men. And Joe Hart.
Roy is clueless but so are the players. A lot of critcism to be shared among a lot of overpaid men on that team.

Its only going to get worse with the TV deal. Doubt these blokes are even going to give a fuxk about the NT now as long as they're paid well.

Not a surprise all the worst performing players were from Tottenham. And Rooney.

Germany are usually still "experimenting" and "finding the best formation" during the group stage of a tournament, so that shouldn't be an argument ^^Jay29 wrote:England play warm-up friendlies before the tournament "experimenting" and "finding the best formation".
