What role exactly? I have yet to see him play as a holder. Madrid played a 433 with Kroos and Modric and Casemiro. Who is he going to bench there? As a DM his mobility is going to be limited and Casemiro is the perfect foil for that role. He can improve his composure under pressure but he is a better DM than Kante. Who was he going to bench? He isn't a ball carrier so can't even replace Modric and he isn't a controller and can't dictate the traffic like Kroos can in Madrids mf. So he is essentially an unknown quantity as a DM and would potentially go from wining the EPl and starting for Chelsea to riding Madrids bench. Not only that Madrid would probably pay him pittance. It was never going to be a good move.

Yeah, i too think Casemiro is positionally much superior to Kante. He understands what's required in that role, while Kante would have had to spend time learning the position.
I would rather we sign Lass as a back up this year, talent at pivote is scarce

Didnt he play DM for France ? And he do have the positional discipline. At Lecstr, he had the freedom and only cos of that he ran around covering ground (notwithstanding the fact that he was doing a brilliant job at that). I know he works best as a Box to box. But his defensive attributes are also top notch to fit into a CDM.
But yea its not hard to understand real being skeptical i guess.

He did and he was awful. He kept dropping into the backline and tiltiing to the right as he is used to playing in a 2 man mf and on the left so at times France had no mf as Matuidi and Pogba where very far forward. Happened in the ireland game iirc. France's build up was terrible and lacked tactical organisation. How Cabaye wasn't used is beyond me, story for another thread.
Nope they are not. His spacial awareness was terrible as playing as a holder, you have to defend more space and not half the width like in a double pivote so your positioning has to be superb to be good there. Casemiro has been a monster there for Madrid. Best player against Barcelona, ridiculous performance in the final and was monstrous against City as well. Different level. He is also so solid. Kante is a cleaner tackler but his positioning is not as good in a sole DM role.
Being a good tackler doesn't make you a good dm for me. Casemiro is also better at initiating play in that role than Kante and moving the ball quickly. Kante is not a bad passer but he is a far worse organiser. The only weakness Casemiro has atm is when he is pressed he sometimes loses the ball but that can be worked on.

Re: Official: Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid handed two window transfer ban.
At this point in time, all Leicester 15/16 players are hugely overrated, which isn't surprising.
Suddenly you have Arsenal after Vardy and Real is supposed to sign Kante?
He's a good player, he is not Real Madrid level though, sorry.

Been saying casemiro is a great player, who can easily be developed into an elite player, since his foundation is rock solid and zidane can help him with techniques to evade pressure and give him confidence as a key player and starter... .

Decision about the transfer ban is near. Apparently according to various sources one club will be banned while the other will only ne fined. It's being reported that it is our club that's the one being fined

Re: Official: Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid handed two window transfer ban.
Both will be banned lmao as it would otherwise mean factually Fifa is biased, and owned by Perez co... But then again I've been saying it many years already based on logical and relative evidence that Fifa, Uefa, La Liga and media are all owned by Perez co.

Re: Official: Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid handed two window transfer ban.
Fifa are clutching at straws imo. Their whole case is based around ZZ's kids. If we get banned it's because they don't want to get Barca started about "double standards" and bs like that
Fining us would be the right decision

Transfer ban means jack shit anyway lol by the time it'd go into effect they would already bring in anyone they need for the near future like Barca and don't mind the ban at all

Actually their equal shift period (relative to Barcelona) was this transfer window, and the verdict will be final after this.

They will be fine either way, they got a young enough squad to live through and it wouldn't hurt them to introduce 1 or 2 youngsters into the first team.
Fine or ban- whatever IMO

Re: Official: Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid handed two window transfer ban.
The rules are supposed to stop clubs from capitalizing on poor families and their kids at a young age... what does that have to do with Zidane and his kids?
If Zizou's kids are the center of the issue, it's laughable. If we're talking about kids from impoverished backgrounds, then it's another story.

All the families wanted those to happen, the families almost went court against the ruling, didn't matter at all.

Paves the way for Asensio to become one of the best players in the world anyway.

if i knew there would be a lack of movement in this market from us, i wouldn't have minded us just accepting a ban and having it end next summer.

Fifa got scared, Hm tried to poke forum view for Fifa with idea that Real wouldn't be banned. Overruled.

Good, we don't need to do any transfers anyway, the current squad is stacked with young players, now they can develop without having to worry about being replaced or getting no playing time. honestly it's a blessing in disguise.

Im going to hazard a guess here, with the squad we have the youth players on loan plus the fact that we can SIGN just not register players, I think we will be fine lol.
