Manga and Anime

lol i've had numerous ppl tell me to get into bnha lately

and yeah..I wound up watching some real games of volleyball due to Haikyuu, actually seems very realistic unlike a lot of other sport anime i've been interested in like kuroko no basket

don't think Volleyball was even a thing here for us, British teams arent even ranked ffs

We played volleyball for like 1-2 terms back in year 9 maybe but never again.

I won't lie, i watched half an episode of boku no hero and had to shut it lol.

MHA is pretty conventional Shonen and doesn't do much to stray far from what you'd expect, but it executes those conventions extremely well. If you're after a good old fashioned Shonen fix, MHA is a great show.

It's also a great show at laying out its themes throughout an arc and then tying them together in very explosive, memorable momenst. The fights themselves are never that elaborate or well-choreographed (something that Naruto beats it on comfortably), but they're all meaningful in some way.

It's production is pretty stellar, too. It takes breaks instead of piling on the filler and things move along at a nice pace. Fights are typically resolved within one or two episodes.

I'll try finish the first episode and few more to see if i feel it.

They really should have adapted Koe No Katachi (A Silent Voice) to a series rather than a film like Your Lie In April. The manga is much superior because of how it develops side characters and its ending. Still a good watch, animation and voice acting is stellar.

6 episodes into Boku no hero. It's like overwatch, Fairy Tail, Naruto and HxH all mashed into one. Not bad though.

it's really really good, keep watching.

Yea it definitely has potential.

Man i am so excited to binge promised neverland again. Got like 20 chapters collected now. Think I'll start reading again by December.

look when i started, i did not drop it until i caught up. i genuinely think it's fantastic, i geeked about it few pages back here but to me it's as good as any shonen out right now. my top 3 up there is reflective on what i read week to week, and mangas that always deliver.

Yea i read 80 chapters in like 3-4 days lol

@RealGunner promise us you'll give Haikyuu a shot sometime when you're in the mood to binge an anime

Promised Neverland is carried HARD by the premise/setting, it's very interesting..at a glance it seems brutal but as time goes on I feel it falling more and more into your typical Shounen cliches, I'm worried it's going to just be a straight line from here on out where the good guys suffer no losses and the main character continues to smile like a goof with cringe speeches. Hoping I'm wrong. I doubt it's something I'll ever drop though because again, love the world and also it's too good at hooking you by trickling out the mysteries and more questions. I was worried initially it would stumble after the early big reveals but it's done a good job of adding more mystique when it needs to do so.

hope it's a return to TGWLTT & Wolf Children quality

both imdb and MAL ratings are mediocre for it...

But seen high reviews too tho.


Anyways, caught up to boku no hero so going to stop watching that for a year or two now since ain't nobody got time for weekly wait.

Started Haikyu. 5 episodes in and it's good so far. I assume it gets better.

The only Anime i've ever watched with interest and from start to finish (apart from Yugimon and Digi Oh) has been Death Note.

I thought that series was sick, what other Animes that are dark and cerebral like that are there?

Yeah, it's just introducing the guys..by the end of Episode 9 I was invested in the team and once the actual matches start coming it's hype every ep

try something like Psycho Pass or Darker Than Black

specifically the former IMO

you could also try Devilman Crybaby for something super violent and dark, it was a recent Netflix series..pretty decent but not great IMO..though others love it. Not sure as someone who hasn't watched much anime though if you can get over the very unique artstyle
