Man City v Liverpool
Well, you don't need a long preview to know this is one of the toughest games of the season.
Both Aguero and Silva are in contention to play a part in this game after their injuries. Aguero has scored in every (three) PL games he's played against us at the Etihad. For us, Klopp said today that Sturridge might feature. If he does it's most likely going to be a late substitution. Henderson is still missing, back in training next week apparently.
In our last six league visits we have 2 draws and 4 losses. Would be about time to get the odd win, eh?

MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head
Liverpool are winless in their last six Premier League games away to Manchester City (drew two, lost four).
Their most recent win at the Etihad Stadium was a 3-2 victory in 2008. That is their only victory in their last nine league games away to City (drew four, lost four).
There have been at least three goals in each of the last six Premier League games between these sides - with a total of 23 goals scored.
Manchester City
City have drawn two of their last three league games 0-0 after a run of 60 matches without a goalless draw.
Sergio Aguero has scored in all three of his Premier League appearances against Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.
They have allowed their opponents just 28 shots on target this season, while registering 83 efforts on target themselves. Both figures are the best in the Premier League this season.
City have won 12 of their last 13 Premier League home games.
Liverpool
Victory would see Liverpool win back-to-back away games in the top flight for the first time since March.
The Reds' tally of 13 goals from their opening 12 matches is their joint-lowest at this stage of a Premier League season.
Philippe Coutinho has scored three goals in four Premier League appearances against Man City.
Simon Mignolet has kept 13 Premier League clean sheets in 2015 - which is bettered only by Joe Hart's tally of 14.

But I would like a little more steel in the midfield, which will also allow our wing-backs to roam with more aplomb.

Re: Man City v Liverpool
I don't want to see Can starting in midfield after his last game. I'm all for giving confidence to youngsters, but he's had a few games like that now and it makes me very nervous against City. He can come off the bench, but I don't want him starting. I really think trying to take the game to them early is the way to go, and then we can settle into something more defensive if necessary.

Re: Man City v Liverpool
Emre has had some poor games lately but I'm pretty sure he'll start. We'll see what happens when Hendo comes back.
Apparently Silva still isn't fit, that's great news. I think we stand a chance here!

Can needs one game on the bench so that he comes to his senses ! We have loads of games coming anyways. Allen and Can can play together in midweek game

Re: Man City v Liverpool
Can gets way too much of a pass. He's been worse than some other players that get a lot of flak and he's really not that much younger. I think people are still living off the hype behind him and his physical gifts. He's been really disappointing.
Thankfully Lucas has bounced back (I never thought he'd recover his form again) and we have Milner/Hendo.

Milner has been much worst than Can this season. He's the one that needs dropping when Hendo is back.

Morty saying, we could win this one, sounds a bit scary. Since Bony is injured, I hope they dont start with Auguero!

Re: Man City v Liverpool
Going to miss first Klopp game . at this stage instead of thinking about win or lose I would like Liverpool to play well and give tough time to City. Playing well is imp than results

If that's the XI, where's Benteke? We need a true goalscorer in a game like this.

If both Sturridge and Benteke are fit enough to be on the bench, why not start with one of them ?

Re: Man City v Liverpool
Yeah. I don't know what's the deal about Firmino starting as striker and not Benteke.
And Aguero starts for them. We need to close him and De Bruyne outte game and we might have a chance.

Aguero pulls one back on his own, but damn, 3-1 lead at half-time still feels pretty nice
