Re: Chelsea v Liverpool
In that sense Milner can do more damage than Can. Can is not ready yet to do that kind of job.
My role for Can in midfield two with Lucas, will be to offer his physicality, hardwork in midfield, offer quick passes in the midfield to our attacking four. Can has better composure to play good midfield passes than Milner.
But if you are asking Can do something on hos own with a free role, I would say it wont work right now. The lad is clearly learning and makes so many wrong passes.

when Henderson is back what mf would you pick mate.Art Morte wrote:I'd be tempted to tell Milner and Lucas to stay back and give Can a more free role. Clearly the lad's got talent, but we need to figure out how to unleash it the best.

When Hendo is back, I'd bench Milner.

Depends a little on what formation we're using. But it's becoming more and more clear to me that Can isn't the DM we thought he would be. The guy likes to run with the ball and play smart plays in attack. I think he needs to be a CM or get sold. He won't be a DM.
So, when Henderson is back, I see Can fighting for game time with Milner while Lucas plays the DM or we play a Henderson - Someone pivot. But I think it would be a mistake to go anything like Henderson - Can - Milner. Too open.

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool
@DamianLFCpl: Mignolet – Clyne, Škrtel, Sakho, Moreno – Emre Can, Lucas – Milner, Lallana, Coutinho – Firmino. Benteke on the bench.

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool
seems like so. Better to protect Benteke if he is not fully fit and get him in place of Coutinho or Lallana later

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool
Woooooooooo what a nice goal by Coutinho!
Moreno's defending for their goal was prime Glen Johnson right there.
We were clearly on top but unable to create chances, hopefully we'll stay on top and score a couple more!

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool
Moreno ball watches all the time
The guy has been at fault for like 10 goals ball watching since he's signed.
Doing good offensively though.

Way to go kloppy! As I said no one better than 'normal one' to humble 'special one'. But still don't want people to forget the fact there is still very much work to be done in order to have such results consistently. Still this team needs more quality especially in midfield. Also the gameplay In general needs improvement more so in creativity department. But luckily the team and fans have manager who will not let them walk alone . As of now it's all beautiful morning sunshine at anfield hope it continues to be same.

I think I should be humble and graceful
Must resist, must resist...the temptation
Screw it, I will rub it to them

yes, we are still shit in midfield. But today Lucas and Can were immense. Lucas was brilliant imo. He did lose ball once but that is fine since we were really looking to keep the ball at all the cost.

Re: Chelsea v Liverpool
But creativity wise, I would like one of CM to play more part to help the final third of the attack.
Also, it was important sub by Klopp to bring Milner off. We were outnumbered for part of the game he came off but we also became more direct as a result.
If Lallana takes even one touch less from his 500 turns and 1000 touches, he can be a very good player.
