Messi case ongoing
Charges against Messi for tax fraud have been dropped. His father continues to be charged though.
We are very fast to cry wolf, and we should also be fast to restore someone's dignity when he is proven innocent.
Edit: It seems it is not dropped.

When does Fifa restore him the Ballon d'Or 2013 winner?

Would have been a shock if he was actually convicted

Nope it isn't. The right context would be if Messi had been convicted (damaged) to farfan's enjoyment.

There's a lot of rich and famous persons in jail. Spanish justice sucks, but if the case is bad they just can't do anything else than convict the famous rich person.

Re: Messi case ongoing
yeah , it's the same justice system that was behind the biggest cover up in doping history .
an athlete of Messi's magnitude going to jail for tax evasion was never an option . it was obvious from the get go that he'll either get a slap on the wrist , or blame would be deflected to someone else .

Re: Messi case ongoing
Isn't it the same in all countries? When you sign your tax declaration submission, you are responsible regardless if the accountant has manipulated the figures. In this case, the father is the accountant and certainly he should be penalized for this, but also the individual who submitted a false tax declaration is also accountable for that. He would likely get a much reduced sentence, but there should be no doubt about this whether he is a celebrity or not. Interesting that Barca have their president, ex president and their two star players all in legal trouble. Messi looks like he is getting away with this, but to say he is innocent is a stretch. More likely it is just not enough evidence to get him sentenced.

Re: Messi case ongoing
Spain is corrupt and nationalistic, it's common place that foreigners get haunted, even more common when it's enemy of the Real Madrid number one. Meanwhile nobody investigates Perez, Real Refdrids nor FIFA connection considering 2013 Ballon d'Or and how much it cost to Perez. In practice Franco is still alive.

Pretty blanket statement. No where is the corruption more evident than with the Catalan politicians!!!
Are you saying that Messi submitting a false tax declaration is a a case of corruption, a foreigner being haunted?

Re: Messi case ongoing
Tax office already did settle the charges, like they do with every Spanish person. Last year prosecutor already asked judge to drop the case against Messi with no evidence, but he didn't. Now year after he does the same again, when there's no evidence of Messi knowing abou ti. So he dragged the trial one year on, because Messi is foreign and doesn't represent Real Refdrid and is enemy of them.futbol_bill wrote:Harmonica wrote:Spain is corrupt and nationalistic, it's common place that foreigners get haunted, even more common when it's enemy of the Real Madrid number one. Neymar is on the investigation, Mascherano is on the investigation. Meanwhile no Real Refdrid players are under investigation. Do you honestly think Messi, or Neymar were in this situation if they played in Real Madrid? All logical points in the direction of corrupted system, nationalistic system, Franco system.
And I don't care about Catalonia or Spain, I say this as concerned citizen of on the most uncorrupted nations.

Re: Messi case ongoing
classical Harmonica logic .
a bunch of Barça players are in trouble .
no Madrid player is in trouble .
therefore , the only logical conclusion is that a conspiracy against Barcelona spearheaded by Refdrid is taking place .

The word logic should be renamed to "Harmonica" tbh.
"Yo mate, I brushed ma teeth and then ate ice cream and drank a can of coke."
"Bruh, where's your Harmonica? First you eat and drink, then you brush your teeth, not the other way round. Think Harmonical for a second."

You do realize that Mascherano and Neymar are under investigation for tax fraud in Argentina and Brasil, not Spain!!

Did you know that Messi is the best passive defender in the game?
