Re: #WengerOut - This is definitely the definitive opinion
Winning Europa League & Wenger staying another year is far, far better than us being in the Europa League next season with a new manager.

Re: #WengerOut - This is definitely the definitive opinion
Don't agree at all. If we win the EL and get into the CL, we will have another shitty campaign where we get embarrassed, what is actually the point?
With a new manager, the way we play can change-- even without massive squad changes.
Anyway we will absolutely not win the EL with Wenger in charge, I'm pretty sure we won't get past Milan let alone someone like Atletico.
If our board members had real ambition to get back into the CL they would sack Wenger NOW and appoint a new manager in the hopes that we can do a Di Matteo and win the competition based on togetherness and change.

Nah Arsene is leaving this summer regardless IMO

Win EL
New Manager in the summer

This would be great but if Wenger somehow manages to win the EL he will 100% sign a new contract and our board will be happy to give it. The man is obsessed about winning the CL which is why he has prolonged his career and obsessed about getting into CL all this time.
We need to get rid of the cancer as soon as possible, the longer he stays the more it will spread.

I can't think of a single reason for Wenger to stay. EL or no, this squad desperately needs new direction. What's an extra year going to accomplish, if not more decline and apathy?
He should be sacked now, nevermind staying another year.

I don't buy that entirely seeing as we just spent over £100m on two of Europe's most prolific strikers. CL isn't the deal breaker it used to be.

We don't need a complete overhaul either, most of our players right now are just not motivated and/or coached well enough but there's talent in this squad.

Re: #WengerOut - This is definitely the definitive opinion
I think we would look much better defensively under a different manager so I wouldn't blame our defenders too much. If there's one thing that can be coached, it's the defence and I don't think Wenger knows how to properly defend, he never did.
Sure you can't do anything about Mustafi's brainfarts but you only have to look at the goals we conceded against City to see that there's no defensive culture at the club. Especially the third goal when we tried to "press" them, no organisation, just mindless running and panic. That all comes from the manager because it's a trait that has been happening for years, before any of these defenders were at the club.

We'd struggle even with a better manager. Improved structure will help, but it's not going to compensate for the lack of quality back there. Between Koscielny, Mustafi, Chambers and Holding only Koscielny is good enough, and he'll be 33 and declining anyway.
Factor in a new right back (maybe two if Bellerin goes to Juve) and a left back (Monreal's good, Kolasinac looks more like Andre Santos by the game) as well as a new keeper. The defence definitely requires the most investment.

Re: #WengerOut - This is definitely the definitive opinion
Honestly I've stopped thinking about who we need to sell and keep. First and foremost we need a new manager who can decide for himself what he needs.
Which is why want Wenger sacked now rather than in the summer, I think it would be truly interesting to see what someone like Marco Silva or Ancelotti could do with the same squad until the end of the season. I truly believe we would see immediate improvement on all aspects, even defence without any transfers.
Maybe I'm wrong but it would certainly be more interesting than watching the same shit all over again.
Waiting until the summer is completely pointless, at that point you don't only have to decide who the new manager should be but there won't even be enough time to decide which players are just bad and which ones are mismanaged.

Mislintat just bought you some Greek supertalent CB whom Wenger refused to loan out but still won't play
Koscielny is a top 10 CB in the world, just not performing this season
Spends 55m € on Lacazette in summer, only to spend 80m € on Aubameyang in winter.
Meanwhile, we spent 12m € on Sandro Wagner from Hoffenheim.

Re: #WengerOut - This is definitely the definitive opinion
I'm of two minds about the next manager, whoever & whenever it is.
The right manager, with proper support, would almost definitely be able to get the majority of Arsenal's underperforming squad back around their previous individual bests. And the right manager would tweak tactics enough e.g. to get service to Auba, to not get caught sleeping and appeal for a foul on every defensive play, etc.
On the other hand, I am kinda skeptical of the board's ability to identify, recruit, appoint, and really support the "right" boss. I'm bracing for some chaotic seasons ahead, just in case.

Jardim is an easy and obvious choice.
He can fail or not work out too well just like any other, but he is absolutely a choice that can be made with conviction and a clear mind.

Despite an up and down season... Lucien Favre of Nice is a good one too.

In a survey conducted online & at tonight’s meeting 88% of AST members vote for Arsenal ending Arsene Wenger’s contract when position reviewed this summer (7% for staying on & 5% don’t know yet). Written comments will be given to Gazidis on Saturday
