Depends a bit who Barca plays last. If Barca is already qualified, which should be the case before the last game, then Barca B will play the last group game as usual. Which might give one of the teams a little advantage.

hopefully Leverkusen in EL. Don't want to be having to face Roma in knockout rounds.

Re: Champions League 2015/16 | Group E
We're paper tigers at this point.
Our defense is softer than satin. Barca will molest it, Leverkusen will brutalize it, BATE will sympathize with it, and still wreck it.
Our only hope of advancing out of this group is to attack, attack, and attack. We have plenty of quality to cause issues for all 3 of those backlines.

Re: Champions League 2015/16 | Group E
Pjanic is out of the Barcelona game with a calf injury. We didn't have much of a chance to win this game anyway, but that was probably our best chance to really put pressure on Barca's defense. Don't see it happening without him.

Calling all Cules,
Who's expected to start at RB for Barca midweek?
I'm reading reports that Sergi Roberto might start there. Haven't followed La Masia much recently, but wasn't he a midfielder coming out of there?

That's true, he was a central midfielder coming out of La Masia
The situation (Alves and Adriano injured, Aleix Vidal still not eligible to play due to transfer ban) has made Luis Enrique look for alternatives. Apparently he saw that Roberto has qualities of a fullback and tried him out there one day. He played a great game and now played full 90 mins three games in a row.
Adriano is now back from injury but surely Sergi Roberto will start since he's got the momentum going and was one of the stand out players in those last 3 mentioned earlier matches.

Re: Champions League 2015/16 | Group E
Thanks.
Should be an interesting match up then with whoever is on Roma's left flank with Luca Digne. I would prefer it be Iago Falque, but I feel like Rudi will go to Gervinho.

Not to worry McLewis, i've simulated Roma v Barca on PES with predicted lineups and beaten them 2-1. Its all good.

Sounds legit as hell tbh.
No way, MSN don't get on the sheet though. We ain't that good defensively.

Re: Champions League 2015/16 | Group E
Not bad. We have a good deal of issues to sort out in that defense (as usual), we're missing 2 key players in midfield so I am not expecting a lot of energy and dynamism with Pjanic out particularly. If Rudi goes with the 4-2-3-1 again, which would be a huge surprise, I am confident Totti will do what he's done so well in the hole over the past years, for the first 60 minutes at least.
We've been inconsistent at best up front. If Dzeko can be said to have changed the dimension of our attacking play, then Salah completely warped it. Falque also adds competency out wide and is one of the few players for me that didn't look all that bad in the Gamper Cup game a few weeks back. It's getting these parts to work cohesively and consistently that is the challenge now. Gervinho and Iturbe's spots tend to hamper and help in equal portions, which is a big cause for the inconsistency.
All in all, we are built to cause problems for Barca, but our defense is still our weak link and I think we'll struggle again against MSN, as should be expected against such a potent attack line. The key to the game will be how we handle the few chances we'll get as the players obviously know they won't see much of the ball. Gotta weather these Barca attacks and take those few chances afforded us or this isn't going to end well.
