This is one of the reasons people don't like Man City - more money than sense. They are almost single-handedly over-inflating transfer market prices. If supporters of FFP needed another example to prove that FFP is a failure, this is it.

A lot of less talented players have scored important goals through their careers though.That doesn't mean anything.

Bale hasn't lived up to his price tag.He simply isn't made for Spanish football.

Unless you count winning La Decima the only thing Madrid aspires to do for the next few decades then yeah, maybe you can consider him a success.

Don't know how Rafa could get the best out of him but so far Bale's stint at Madrid would be seen as below average.
