Finale dahoam says hello.
Anyway, curse or no curse, it must be possible to sub off Müller when he's cucumbering around all game (Denglish alert).
On Saturday, 83rd minute, that sub was entirely reasonable, nothing wrong with it.

Re: Pep sack watch
Apparently Pep is now beefing with Sammer and Müller though.

Agent Pep dismantling what he can before either being sacked or jumping ship.

All it says is that Pep is annoyed at press conferences when asked to comment on stupid talking points like yours, Viva.

It also says that Sammer has mused that Pep is very replacable, and the analysts have pointed towards Peps underapreciation of Müller, his most valuable player.

Underappreciated because he gets subbed off after 80 minutes when having a weak game? Right..

Tbf Sammer is even more replaceable than a random ballboy.

Not in the eyes of the Bayern board. And he's been universally admired everywhere he's worked.
And in the context of Bayern Munich, the Sporting Director has a lot more pull, and a much safer job, than the coach.

Yeah, even Nerlinger survived way longer as SpoDi then I would ever have thought. Only Schalke beats Bayern with clinging to their SpoDi ^^

Re: Pep sack watch
Sammer can't string one coherent sentence together, but it's undeniable he's doing a great job. So why would he be in question?
Btw, Sammer is supporting Pep 100%, but of course when pressed what Pep's hesitation to extend means for the club, he'll say we will survive when Pep leaves.
Nothing newsworthy whatsoever about that lol, is he supposed to say we'll shut shop? Of course we'll be okay.

Re: Pep sack watch
I take issue with the statement that Pep does not appreciate Mueller, I don't see any real evidence to support that. One may even argue that the 3-3-3-1 expresses confidence in Mueller as it's the only real way of including his talents within Pep's systems. We've heard talk of Guardiola's imminent exit since his very first season, this is hardly anything new. It is of course possible that he will depart at the end of his contract but it certainly won't be due to a lack of trust in Pep's ability to continue to guide the club.

dostoevsky wrote:I can understand the idea that Goetze might give you more in midfield than Mueller but given that Lewa had already been withdrawn my immediate concern would be releasing the pressure on the Wolfsburg CBs in possession to let Naldo step up into midfield and give them an extra man as they push for an equaliser. If Goetze were playing with greater confidence right now I think it would be fine to have him drop deep from the central position, make the sensible decision and help recycle possession but given what we've seen in the past few months from Bayern? It seems more of a risk than a guarantee.
If the idea was to slow the game down and play it out I'd have been more inclined to take Costa off but given the threat he had been posing to Vierinha all game and Alaba finally starting to get involved on the overlap it's again far from ideal to pull him with space opening up on the counter. I feel that if Bayern had their full bench available we'd have seen someone else arrive instead of Goetze entirely rather than Pep trying to accomplish something specific with him.
Fair enough, solid points here. Tbh if anything I'd say the decision everyone should be blasting Pep for was taking Lewa off. Unless he has some fitness issue I'm unaware of he seemed to be having a good game and he would've been able to operate as a release valve.

Never seen a coach celebrating a friendly win against our C team as pep did
He looked desperate and under pressure in a friendly match...what have Bayern done to him

Re: Pep sack watch
Going to go out on a limb and suggest that if Pep is pleased to beat Real Madrid, it has less to do with his job security and more to do with his 23 collective years of service at Barcelona.
