marcelo played like a true captain. he played that way because of his position as a captain snrx believed it was his responsibility to mske something happen...

sory he cant be like this everyday except ramos leaves Madrid and he becomes the number 1 captain...

442 sucks..we hardly created chances. apart from passing ball d the LM and RM with marcelo always trying an impossible pass..

The main two points from Z's post-game conference after beating Chelsea:

1. Jesé is in talks with PSG.
2. Morata is staying.

442, 433, 4231, etc. are all fine.  It all depends if you have the squad to execute them.  In the end, we don't have a proper squad right now for really any system.  Too many guys missing.

And I hate it when Marcelo scores because he then feels justified with the crap way he plays fullback.

It's not hate it's common sense. Look at the third goal, his defending is a joke. And he is not that much of a great attacker. I'll admit our attacks seem to flow better with him on the pitch but he is the Khedira of fullbacks. None knows why or what he does so good cuz he doesn't assist or score nearly enough

secondly, I really don't see how this preseason is meant to improve the team because few to none of our first team players are involved in all these experiments - quick passing, aggressive pressing, highline, 442.. majority of the people involved are second teamers or youths who would not even make the cut.

Problem with Marcelo is that he has no competition... so Zidane or any other manager is forced to make him feel good about himself. We've all seen how much more crap he becomes when he pouts. Until we come to our senses and get someone else, we just need to hope that he's not too crazy.

As much as I love Kroos... Kroos/Marcelo/Ronaldo... can you get any worse defense on one side of the pitch

"Not that great of an attacker" yeah, where were you when he was our ONLY consistant playmaker in the past few years. Last season his final ball was lacking. He needs competition and I'm not sure where he'll get it

Llorente isn't even going to make the team Hala. Ramos, Pepe, Varane and Nacho are set.

Marcos Llorente isn't going to make it either... Kroos, Modric, Casemiro, Isco, James and Kovacic. Unless one of these guys leave, there's no room there either. Imo, we need a backup for Casemiro in the DM role more than anything if someone goes.

In fact, I don't think there's a single area other than backup DM and backup LB where a player has a hope of making it... and we have neither of those.  Our roster is set almost entirely.

Only injury would allow a kid to get called up.

Llorente is good enough to remain in the first team.
What we really have to consider is if we will give these kids enough playing time to allow them grow or we loan them out.

There is also the other side of the coin where we consider their development over having substitutes to stand in for injured or tired players...

I think Llorente is somewhat aggressive and can develop into a fine DM...He might not have the grit of Casemiro or Kante, but i believe he would do a good or even better job than kroos in shielding the back four

Rated this guy his for the past 3 seasons and i still believe he has something..

Anybody here thinks he plays like Toni kroos, but a Toni kroos that does not spend aeons of years on the ball before making a pass.

Lucas is like super average

We need more average players like Lucas, those who always give their last breath for the team. Rather see this kind rather than world class mercenaries who don't give a shit

LOL, Nick just wants to get rid of all the Spanish on team. First he tries to start a story that Nacho was gone, he doesn't like Morata, Ramos, Isco, thinks it's too soon for Asensio, now Lucas. I haven't heard him  lately saying anything negative about Dani, Castilla, but give him time.
