Ceontrao is a workhorse. Putting him in a midfield role is easy... He can really play anywhere lol. Sahin/Alonso/Coentrao midfield would be just tough. Coentrao would bring that ball recovery aspect that nobody can bring.

Di Maria is basically benched IMO. It looks like Carvalho and Ramos are staying put.

They really need to sell some players though, even though I don't want any -aside from the fringe players - to go, this is just ridiculous, looking at today and realizing we are still missing Di Maria, Higuain, (Gago) we can't justify such a bench.

If you're going to have a player start in a new role (ceontrao to rb and Ramos to cb), I assume you'd do it all preseason to get them acclimated. You didn't see that a single second tonight or in practice according to reports. That's what i'm going by.

If Coentrao is slotted for midfield, he either pushes Sahin or di Maria to the bench.

calm down it's their first game of the preaseason, it's not an issue. Mourinho might not turn as adventurous as we think, but really we can only look at how players evolve within the group.

What i understand is that Coentrao played the two positions he practiced for in training, and today or yesterday he played RB in training. so maybe he will do that next, but at least we know he is that swiss knife we thought he was.

He was meh, although it was just a first preseason game... So you expect meh-ness a bit. Rustiness.

One thing to always keep in mind with Benz... He's a rhythm player. As we go thru preseason, you'll see him get sharper.

not saying you do, im just saying he is always under the microscope no matter, he made some nice passes, looked a bit quicker and scored a nice header, its the first preseason game no need to over think it

I have to say Ganso, I really like Coentrao in the midfield. Other than lass, whom has major tactical issues and can't go b2b, we've lacked that. Imagine having someone in there who can recover a ton of balls in the midfield, defend and attack all very well.

Khedira can't do that. Di Maria lacks the tactical awareness IMO and is not the defender Coentrao is.

Become a Coentrao jpcker so you all know. Just really impressive.
