Re: PES
Demo out on August 8th, will think about unretiring.
I never understood people who play FIFA tbh. PES is miles ahead in gameplay and the licencing issue can be solved in 10 minutes and you have all the teams and all the competitions.

Re: PES
I'd say gameplay wise both games suffer from flair/ping-pong passing but yeah PES has way more depth than FIFA when it comes to gameplay.
Then again I'm strictly talking about offline exhibitions/cup modes. I haven't played Master League/Career mode/Legend mode in years.
Also online FIFA wins even though it is arcade football and doesn't resemble the beautiful game. At least it is playable unlike PES.

Re: PES
Details for the PES 2019 demo:

- Has exhibition mode, offline co-op and quick match
- Two stadiums: Camp Nou and Vetlins Arena
- 12 teams: Barcelona, Schalke, Liverpool, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Monaco, Sao Paolo, Flamengo, Palmeires, Colo Colo, Argentina, France
Some info about new features:

Time for that Hibernian Master League career.

Re: PES
Feel sorry for Konami, they put all that effort last year to capture Signal Iduna Park inch by inch and basically EA came and said my dick is bigger, BVB is mine

Have to say this looks like the best football simulation to date after playing the demo last night and today for the first time.

Re: PES
The more I play the more I like it. If they make freekicks harder and sort out heading a bit this is the best PES ever, no doubt.
Also great touch allowing online matches to the demo, played like 30 games, all wins and one draw

Re: PES
My main issues with this game remain the same as they were previous games:
While they have finally made player switching easier, I find the game automatically selects the receiving player as soon as a pass/cross is made or a ball is loose. Therefore I often find the wrong player (as in not the closest) goes to receive the pass. I get this on Pass Assist 1 once almost every match.
Inconsistencies. Failing to clear the ball when my player is in possession of the ball but takes one touch too many for an opponent to grab the ball in front of your goal when I'm bashing the 'clear' button. Failing capitalise on a tackle when I've cleanly tackled the opposition player and should get the ball but somehow it goes the other way. I guess that is part of football but it takes away the skill by adding randomness in a tight match.

Re: PES
Yeah the switching in 18 was atrocious. It is far better now but I agree.
As far as inconsistencies go, while I do agree I think it makes the game more realistic. The ball doesn't always bounce the same way and I like that. In PES 17 if you tackle, the ball was always yours, in 18 they changed that but they went to far in the other direction and the ball would return to the tackled player too much, I think this is more balanced now.
I don't know about clearances because I always clear with a pass rather than just kick it anywhere, but what annoys me more is that when there is chaos in the box and the ball goes to my player he refuses to take a quick shot on his first touch, no matter how many times I press shoot. Same as 18. Although I don't use basic shooting like most so that's maybe a problem just for me.

Exactly that is what I meant. This has encouraged me to pass when I actually need to kick the ball anywhere because it seems when you pass, your player takes fewer touches than when you just want to clear the ball and get rid of the danger. Which brings me to the problem with most football games, because they allow you to pass your way out of tight places in your defence while under pressure whereas in real football even the most technical defenders won't risk it and just clear/hoof the ball instead. Having the passing assistance pretty high on default doesn't help this cause either as you can almost mindlessly pass the ball to any direction and the AI will try to get the ball to one of your players.
