Re: La Liga strike
Well, the Brazilian FA didn't allow Dante and Gustavo to play in the DFB Pokal final two or so years ago, so I guess Barca would have the same problem.Doc wrote:They could beg the FAs to have both players released on a later date...
See above - Bayern already had to make do without Dante ands Gustavo even though they only would have missed one day prep time then.linetty wrote:Thanks for clarifying that. Sucks balls tbh. I hope they sort it out quickly because we'll have to play Atleti without Messi and Neymar if that happens.

Re: La Liga strike
if messi or neymar wish to stay in barca i'd find it incredibly dumb from brazil/argentina to keep their main stars/captains unhappy.
neymar may not have much of a choice cuz he's still young but our dictator gets what he wants.

Re: La Liga strike
If the games aren't played in May, I don't think they're going to be played at all. There's Copa America and besides the players will want to start their summer break - might even be contractually entitled to.

Re: La Liga strike
The Chile FA seem like a nicer bunch, they agreed to let Alexis Sanchez play our FA Cup final which takes place on 30 May.

Re: La Liga strike
I highly doubt it will come to a strike, it would make the RFEF and the LFP look far too bad. I honestly think the threat of a strike will be enough to come to some sort of temporary agreement.
If it does go to a strike though, the consequences might be dramatic. No Messi and Neymar could very well mean no league and cup, which will probably decide both Enrique's fate and the elections. Hope it doesn't come to that.

Every report I've read has stated that the cup final will be suspended
"All matches will be suspended from 16 May, including the domestic cup final."

Hopefully Madrid loses to Valencia so we can almost win the league before the 16th, this could get ugly if the strike goes into the Copa America training.
On the news they said the Cup wasn't affected.

Re: La Liga strike
Javier Tebas (La liga president) said that if the league is not played this weekend that matchday will be eliminated. If that happens Barca will be made the champions without any team playing, as we have a 5 point gap and there are 2 games left to play.

Re: La Liga strike
Apparently, Spanish court will rule tomorrow if the player strike is illegal or not.
This journo was at the court case. Unfortunately, I can't read Spanish:

Re: La Liga strike
Will be watching Sunday then!!!
Question, do they make the second last week games all on the same time each season? Or only this season due to the situation of the run in now?
