Elaborate, because I firmly believe we're less dependent on our older players than previous years.Only Tevez will be a loss from the old guard.Buffon will play till he's 40 like Van Der Saar

Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga III
Buffon might play untill 40s but the risk on injury grows bigger with every year. Evra and lichtsteiner are on the wrong side of 30, and Chellini is hitting 31 this year. Pirlo is on his last legs and Marchisio will be 30 in 6 months.
On the other hand Juvi is active on the youth front but the Buffons and Pirlos dont come around that often

Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga III
We didn't need Pirlo to win the league though.Infact we play much better without him.Marchisio has done a fantastic job in his absence and Claudio is a player who can play well into his 30s.He's the least of our worries right now.
Regarding Buffon, even if he magically declines in the next few yrs, I'm pretty sure we'll have a good replacement lined up so I ain't worried. It's also a position I believe where you can afford to compromise in quality by a bit compared to other positions on the pitch.
As for Evra, i still think he's got one good yr atleast left in him, in any case there's Asamoah who is solid at LB as well.
Lichtsteiner is probably the only worrisome figure in the starting lineup so I hope we buy a new RB before the mercato closes.
We are covered at CB too with Bonucci coming off a stellar season. and with Rugani we'd be having one of the brightest prospects in Europe.Chiellini's age again I don't think is an issue.Chelsea won a league with 34 yr old Terry in the backline heck Inter won a treble with ageing defenders. At 31, you'd like to think he still has some gas left in the tank.
Attack will have better depth than last yr.That's for certain.
Though tbf I'm realistic about Juventus' chances in Europe next season.Unlikely we make another final.I'd be ecstatic if we make the last 4 again but I'd be happy if can get to the QF's atleast. That should be the minimum objective apart from winning the league ofcourse.![:coffee:](/users/3313/22/97/24/smiles/2859867778.gif)
Btw it's time to start a new season thread.Looking forward to it.

Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga III
Well if Inter is a relevant example then we've seen how fast old defensers can decline. Lucio had a super season with Inter and suddenly became garbage, while samuel was riddled with one i jury after the other. We brought Ranocchia who was one of the best prospects in europe and you know how that turned out. Of course things dont have to go that bad for Juvi but its a possibility. Anyway Juvi are better prepared to deal with a possible crises in terms of finances and players and they can always sell Pogba and revamp the squad.

Re: The 2014/15 Calcio Saga III
Yeah the age issue is not that big of a deal at Juventus now
A couple of years ago I would have agreed but a few excellent things have happened for us
Bonucci out of nowhere stepped in an took over from Barzagli, and Marchisio has made the CDM spot his own
So the 2 aging outfield players we relied upon in Conte's years, have already been replaced. Barzagli has a big part to play still anyway imo.
We just need to think heavily about ou FB situation next Summer, we'll need to rejuvenate that department but apart from that, all is well.

It worries me that we have asamoah, caceras, licht as our full backs if you look at the other top european teams full backs we are certainly lacking in quality... i am hoping we will nab either kurzawa or darmian

Damn . This is indeed sad news .
I wish they can recover with time and find themselves in Serie A in the future.

Really sad. To think they had Buffon, Cannavaro, Thuram playing for them 15 years ago...

Absolutely tragic, to think they finished amongst the European places last season.
Also not meaning to sound like a vulture but I wouldn't mind stealing Cerri from them as a low risk venture.
Edit: Robes.![Laughing](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_lol.gif)
